I got an AKRA pipe on my bike, and I'd rather not get pull over and given a summon.

First of all, where are the road blocks? I only seen them once near St. James to catch drunk drivers (and the bonus illegal mod). I ride my bike to work (Bouna Vista, NUS and home) and have never seen a road block before. (all surface streets, no expressway). Occasionally, I'll see a TP. So far they have left me alone.

A few questions are:

1) Where do you guys get pulled over?

2) What is the penalty for my pipe?

3) Any chance tp will give chance and let it slide?

4) Any chance it is quiet enough to be legal?

I also want to know, does TP close one eye when it comes to harleys??

Haha. A lot of people think so. I have been fined once on mine and I changed the pipe to V&H less than a year back. But I think overall i was just unlucky. Rarely heard of TP stop Harleys. So i guess the best way to not get caught for your pipes is to buy a harley.

Everybody falls. It is how fast you can get back up that makes the difference

1) Where do you guys get pulled over?

I got pulled over at clementi and it wasnt even a road block. Was just waiting at a traffic light. Have been stopped many times in clarke quay for the usual drink driving road blocks but they never fined me for my pipes (I go riding around there at night but i dont drink).

2) What is the penalty for my pipe?

I got fined 500 dollars. But it can be more depending on the TP I guess.

3) Any chance tp will give chance and let it slide?

Definitely but have to be really lucky. Happened to a friend once but I have no such luck.

4) Any chance it is quite enough to be legal?

I dont know about that. But if it is loud enough to like, it probably isnt legal.

And I have never seen a road block around NUS, Buona Vista etc so I dont think you will be stopped. Pulled over got chances but have to be really unlucky.:thumb:

Answer to your questions from my own experience and point of view.

Different people may vary.

1) Where do you guys get pulled over?

Everywhere. Even before coming out out a HDB car park.

2) What is the penalty for my pipe?

I never kenna before. But I heard it's SGD500 each piece.

3) Any chance tp will give chance and let it slide?

99.99% no chance.

4) Any chance it is quite enough to be legal?

Doens't understand this phrase.

Cheers!

1) Where do you guys get pulled over?

usually at normal roads. always got lucky on expressway.

2) What is the penalty for my pipe?

heard no longer $500... its $700 now.

3) Any chance tp will give chance and let it slide?

it depends, sometime can negotiate for a warning. but if another tp stop you theres no more warning

4) Any chance it is quite enough to be legal?

if no certificate for your akra pipe which is approved to be used in singapore despite its quite enough it is still not legal.

1) normal roads. just after the exit of expressways. expressways. (but i was not on my bike for this incident.) am i suay? maybe.

2) illegal pipe? $700.

3) possible but highly unlikely.

4) quite enough? i dun understand this question. you might want to rephrase.

Rat bike - A motorcycle not necessarily kept in pristine condition, often painted matt black. Minimal maintenance and mismatched parts often used.

even if db level and emission level passes, also got to depend on lta whether they want to legalise your type of pipe on your model of bike. i am not sure based on what.

usually after bends or hilly up and down. (where they can hide)

So by the time, you emerge from the bend doing silly things, you'll have little or no reaction to correct those silly things.

if the pipe comes straight from the factory and underwent homologation with LTA, it's perfectly legal.

Stock is good...Choose your weapon wisely and enjoy it...you can have all the $$$$ to mod and in the end you can't make full use of it....

One important principle in life every Singapore guys pick it up in Army.

You can do anything but don't get caught.

If suei suei kena, LPPL, Ding Dong Bell....

Btw, why don't get a legal one? Pay on illegal pipe and worry so much? Unless you like the thrill of playing police and theft.

Police can set-up road blocks anywhere they want.. Just block the road and left a lane for you to go thru. Normally they will set-up in a way even when you see them you are unable to U-turn or turn into small alleys.. Fine for illegal or mod exhaust is straight up $700. If u wanna use the "legal" exhaust you should go home early and ward off those high profile roads. I used a SX muffler on my ktm 525 before...noise level was ok when normal riding..it will be loud if the rpm hits on the high side.

I got a road block before entering Marine Barrage. Haha. Cool one. They're hiding behind some trucks.

As for tp, try PIE expressway on weekdays. Lots of them.
