if you have a ramp up your house i dont think a big bike would have any problems. I too lived in 1st floor and had thought of this idea but my bike is too fat to carry up those stairs.

The block next to mine has a backdoor straight to their "laundry drying balcony". If I lived there and could replace those stairs there with a ramp I would already have an official parking lot. HAHAHHAHAHAA its quite difficult to find a parking lot these days especially if you return home after 10pm.

my parents' friend is going to do a ramp for me. anyhow i still dont think parking at home is an issue.

did anyone get complaint or being issued a warning letter by the authorities before?

come to think of it, wouldn't the weight of ur bike crack ur floor tiles at home?

ur bike may not b heavier than ur piano at home but the weight 'focus' from ur side-stand and wheels contact is very great

Hi, I live in the ground floor of a HDB flat, just wondering is it LEGAL to push my bike back to my home and park it IN my house?

I can see nothing wrong with that. Its your property anyway. If talk about fire hazard, stoves are fire hazard too, and kept in homes hahaha. I dunno if can apply the same theory with terrace house. Since its their compound and they can actually park car IN the house (if they really want to) hahahah

And hopefully you really mean IN the house and not outside your doors. There are juz too many keypoh if you park outside your doors.

If the floor tiles cracked under the weight of a bike, it is because the tiles were not laid properly ie. the cement below was not spread evenly, thus the support beneath is not distributed over it's entire surface.

It's easy to check for this. Use a long screw driver, and knock on each tile. If it gives a blunt sount, it's good whereas if the sound is hollow then that's crap workmanship.

If your bike is indeed a heavy weight, you can spread the weight at the contact areas by slipping a piece of metal plate under.

I don't see any bike a problem because no bike can weigh more than a 8 feet arowana tank filled with water

is anyone going to tell me what i can or cannot put in my house? fire hazard? erm don't think this is going to be parked near the kitchen or better still fireplace haha....

fire hazard...there are more fires going off in carparks HDB flats but of course they were jobs of the sick in the head arsonists.

at home, common sense will tell us to keep the machine as far from any possible potential fire hazards right?

of course, you can't help but have kpo neighbors complaining or better still post it in STOMP (a place created to appeal to the kpo, everything also must complain and superbly 'gracious' mentality and attitude of MAJORITY of s'poreans)

been wondering, y doesn't HDB build apartment blocks ala MSCP?

meaning there's a ramp and you could drive and park at your back door? or at least your own level, then that means those lots are allocated to only that floor's residents

Grounded... :/

I think some fishtanks will be even heavier than our bikes.
