so are ur tyres in still gd shape? if it is, u can opt for the manufacturer fix which is better than inserting a tyre puncture patch.

actually i don't know what it's called.. but this is the process.

 

- the mechanic will remove ur wheels from the bike

- remove tyre from rim

- call the tyre manufacturer to pick up the tyre

- they will patch-up the tyre from inside out using tyre rubber compound, heat seal the patch

- return tyre to bikeshop

- mechanic fix everything up

 

good thing about this way of patching is the tyre is back to normal with no "worms" on its surface. The patched area looks clean.

 

bad thing - slightly costly den "worms" patching. but it's quite worth it is the tyre still has lots of life on it or ur going on a long trip with that set of tyres.

ic ic....so called inner patching....bad thing is gotta leave the bike for a day to a few and workmanship charges frm bike shop...anyne know where to get those CO2 cannister and adapter. Dunno ah boy ade jual ke tak and one cannister enuff for whole tyre.

if u send the bike in the morning, it should be ready by afternoon.. u'r right about workmanship charges from bikeshop, that's why i said it can be slightly costly and only worth the money if ur tyre's still has a long life ahead or u'r going on a long trip.. my shop quoted me abt $40 for the whole process inclusive balancing.

 

always start a bike trip with ZERO patch or worms on your tyres cos u nvr know how many worms u'll have by the time u'r on way back. And from what i heard, 3 "worms" is the max u can have on a tyre for safety sakes.

 

LAB do sell the patchkit with C02 cannister.. in fact there are a few variety when i enquired. as cheap as $25 to the most ex at $40 with 3 CO2 cannisters. I heard of the tools from the cheaper package is a bit of a weakling. Get the $40 ones, the tools are of better quality.. Comes with 3 co2 cannisters, adapters for the cannisters, hand tools for inserting the patch kit, penknife, tire glue, and 5 patch kits.

 

For 180 size tyre, i used 3 cannisters during a flat and there's still no pressure indicated on my tire pressure gauge. But the tires are hard enough to roll to the nearest petrol station with a pillion onboard without a wobbling feeling..I was able to ride at 90km/hr.. Mebbe the tire pressure gauge cannot read CO2. Since my tire pressure gauge could not read the pressure, i used the old skool " put pressure on tire by pressing on the tires with 2 hands" method. With 2 cannisters, i can still feel the deflated feeling from my rear tires.

I have seen this thing work before.. however not on a bike but on a mountainbike. it does a good job but u have to reapply a fresh sealant each time u change tires and it's bloody messy in the insides of the rims and tyres when u remove them.

 

but it's quite hassle free after u install them. They do the work for. The sealant will cover up any holes if there's any from inside out.

 

 

manufacturer fix is not as this.. there's no sealant involve.. just another piece of rubber tyre compound inserted into the hole to seal the puncture. Then the area heat treated to bond the inserted compound to the tyre..

yup.. but pls do make sure u change tyre before thinking of going anywhere across trhe border or like i said, if the tyre's still have a lot of life left, do the manufacturers fix.. pay slightly more but at least u have less worry to think of

nasib aku kurang baik pasal dpt tgk kleas motogp aje....125 and 250 aku nampak dlm mimpi aje

 

tapi memang race kelas motogp cukup klasik.....front bike asyik bertukar tangan, even Rossi tergelincir to no. 5

 

niwei, Stoner power on the straights.....Lorenzo pun surprise package from Yamaha. aku rasa Rossi kena keje lebih keras mcm gini

 

tapi kan, gua peh feverets old timer sumer senyap....hopkins, hayden, melandri.....semua sua main angin tadi pagi

By the time aku sadar at 510am, motoGP pon dah habis... hampa sungguh.. TETAPI!!! memandangkan aku TAK keje nari, skrang aku tgh tengok repeat telecast at Starsports skarang... tgh 125cc race skrang ni.. so nak kena tengok balik semua baru dapat tengok motoGP..
