[Technical] Queries for TA200

Thanks sawfly I tried to tune the carb so many times, the plug is always black n fuel consumption sucks. 22 to 25 on this carb. Maybe I should change back to the one that came with the bike.

I had recently had brought a 2nd hand Phantom 200cc bike. I am having problem to kick in to neutral gear when the motor is running. When ever i try to have in neutral from 1st gear, it would skip and goes to 2nd gear. when the bike is off, i could put it in neutral but need some force to do so. And also i hearing a loud sound when i drop down the gear on the run despite the speed . When i check with the motor shop he says it could be the clutch plate problem. And is charging me very high as the warranty has expired.

 

Can anyone advice before i change because i have my doubts that the shop is trying chop my neck off.

First, tell us how much he charge you. No bike shop should charge high just because warranty has expired.

Some solution suggested: change oil, adjust clutch cable.

just adjust the clutch cable,if have to change then change,few bucks only.CHeers mate

Hello, i have a problem with my Phantom, while riding it, the engine just shut down. The lights and the horn wok. I can not get it started again. I charged the battery again, changed the spark plug and nothing, does anybody have any tips? and would somebody be so nice to tell me what the stock ignition coil for this motorcycle is?

have you tried push start? might be the carbon starter, happened to me sometime ago.

 

check kill switch too! sometimes that might be it :/

I did try to push start it, but not with much luck, maybe i was doing it wrong anyways there is spark on the spark plug when i try to start the engine, but the sparks dont look like they should do, thats why im thinking to change the ignition coil, but i dont know what model would be good for the motorcycle. :/

i forgot to mention, that the motorcycle cranks but does not start.

bring to planet and let mr chong diagnose it, prices are quite reasonable with him.

 

not sure if ignition coil and magnetic coil are the same.

however if they are, my experience was, the spoilt coil make my whole bike no light, headlights all went off, so im not sure to rule that out.

 

put to gear 2, run and push it for a few seconds, half clutch and press the starter, clutch back in when bike starts and press the brake. "thats how i did it!"

sadly im from Serbia, we dont have planet here , the cable that you put on the spark plug is part of the ignition coil, and i think that is what is making problems. Since the battery is ok, my lights and horn work.

I appreciate every thought that gets me closer to solving the problem

Can I bring to Planet and ask Chong to ride it and see if it's just me or there really is a problem? Bike left 2 years (non-renewable) and I'm very cash strapped but I'd like for him to look at the engine and make sure it can last another 2 years.

Have a look at the stop switch wiring. You can try bypassing the switch and hardwire it to test if its at fault.

My bike is running lean. White spark plug tip and fuel consumption above 40km/l. I understand the pilot screw can adjust air/fuel ratio but I read it's only for low throttle conditions. Which shop can I go to increase by carb jet size to make it richer? Asked ah chong but he say he don't have.

Anyone had any problems with melting headlight assembly? Personally I have melted 2 headlight assembly. 1 original 1 local set from ah boy. I put in a 35W bulb. I'm curious is the headlight assembly really not resistant to heat?

The pipe #1 goes up to nowhere under the seat, why?

Pipe 2 goes to nowhere down, why?

Pipe 3 goes to point 3

Pipe 4 goes to a fuel tank

and what is this black box doing?

and How to connect the pipes correct if need?

Hello, could somebody tell me how to adjust the valve on the t200? My problem is that when i try to adjust the valves one valve gets stuck at one point and i cant turn it anymore.

Today after riding for 2000km ive decided to change my engine oil. After the servicing my bike starts to emit white smoke everytime i throttle.or start the engine.

 

The white smoke is damn smoky when i was riding along AYE.

 

i went back to the mechanic and told me my engine is spoiled. An overhaul is needed. He told me it will be around 1k.

 

would like to ask phantom bros around here is the price worth it because i left 2 years into coe and is 1k the price for an overhaul.

Go to uncle chong (Planet Motors) and ask him for a more reliable quote. I'm pretty sure it wouldn't cost 1k.

Hi all, I bought a 9 years old phantom recently. When I start my bike, theres always this cluttering noise from the engine when idling. However after travelling on it for around 15mins, the sound is gone. When im riding at 4th or 6th gear theres also a swoosh swoosh sound, like sand? Anyone here know what is wrong? Thanks!!
