does anyone kno how to clean the inside of our tank? coz im now working on my paintwork and the fuel opening is actually sealed, but i can hear some sandy sound inside the tank when i shake it... so do we use fuel and shake it ard den flush out or diesel or just normal water will do? water will be very much more ezier as i dun haf to go suck my own petrol out frm my bike n use n more cost efficient

i once washed my tank too.

put a hose in, turn on th tap & just flush it with water.

thn shake it ard, i added in shampoon too.

thn let th water drain off.

follow by 2l of petrol, drain off too.

thn comes in th new petrol, assemble everything & its good to roll.

I going for my bike inspection soon and thinking of letting the bike shop to check for potential problem. What is the market rate for the bike shop to check my bike for it ?

anyone can give me advice.. ?

Posted

Pretty simple that - take the bike to Planet in the morning for Dr. Chong to test ride. He'll let you know if anything is wrong.

If the mechanical condition is good and all auxiliary equipment is functioning properly (lights, horn, etc) you should have no fear with inspection. I went through inspections no problem with a 7yr old bike that has never been washed, smoking like crazy and things rattling to bits.

Well, if your bike had gone thru multiple transformations and/or you dun have the time, the motor-tiam can do it for ya at a minimal fee, on top of the inspection fee. Your choice bro!

Nah la! About 13 plates of Chix Rice! Anyway, for me it's both the problems! Too many mods and no time wrapped in one lah!

Don't feel bad senor, I might have problems next year too?

I can just imagine the looks on their faces:

"Why is there a flower there. Is it a legal modification?"

"Why is there a water bottle with a tube running into the engine bay"

"How come your exhaust look like BBQ chicken"

"How come road tax disc got cat pillow inside"

And so on

Hey guys. :)

I noticed my bike got ticking sounds when idling...ticking along with my idling sound. Is it anything I need to worry about? The ticking sounds is still there even on warmed up engine (rode home, off the bike then start again).

Getting tired of replacing things...:(

Fellow knights~

Anyone have any tips on how to remove the stains on the bike fork shown in the picture? (the picture is koped from internet, but mine looks about there. )

Is it aluminium oxide? Or rust?

If worse come to worst, will just chrome the fork =X

Also, any solution to cleaning rust particles on chrome coverS?

Adventure.

Chrome polish can dissolve things on the chrome but doesn't help if the chrome layer has been destroyed. As for the plastic "chrome covers", yep just turtle wax chrome polish will do. Easy to do even if tarnished over 5 years.

Do not use Autosol or god forbid, oven cleaners on chrome. There's a difference between chrome polish and metal polish.

It does look like bad oxidation (stock forks are aluminum finish?) which can be sanded/dissolved/buffed away. Aforesaid metal cleaners come to mind.
