is it advisable to remove the drain plug when the engine is warm? I've been having trying to remove that nut for the past 2 oil change.. the last one i tried so hard until the nut was kinda worn out.. then had to go bike shop to remove and change then now same thing again!

Hi all,

Just wondering we can use car engine oil for 2 stroke bike? it's just a gear oil only.

Can we mix different grade of e.o. together? Eg 10W40 & 15W40?

Thanks

Hello all. Juzz wanted to ask . Should we warm the engine be4 drain the EO or drain it while its cold? cuz my friend said if we open the nut drain while the engine is hot, tht will make the nut lose and sooner or later ur EO might leak. Is dat true??

i just got my first bike a couple of months ago, and i'm a newbie to this bike business.. how often do you guys need to top up your engine oil? i didn't check my engine oil dip stick for the last 2000km and its gone dry (i check the dip stick got no oil at all - the oil didn't even reach the minimum mark). i think i must have caused alot of damage to my bike engine already. what damage does riding without engine oil cause to my bike?

imagine gears w/o lubricant brushing each other. friction will occur n gears inside ur engine will eat up. so,its better to top-up ur EO once in a while dudez

how often do u check your EO and top up? and how often do u do engine oil change? Is it when u send to workshop for servicing (5000km)?

eem my friend engine oil is not somthing that will finish up, sounds like its leaking some where... it will never go dry it will only break down in to a finer liqued form. not nessecery that you must wait for 2000km, soon you can feel when the engine oil needs to be changed by the performance. but for now you just follow the manual for now.

just in case i got the wrong info..

bike has to be in the upright position before taking reading.

if bike is slanted/tilted *left overnight* definately you will

not be able to see the reading.

tell-tale signs of a leak can be found under the engine of your

bike *floor* if no oil is seen, then its most probably you are using

the wrong way of taking a reading...

keep me posted i also wanna know what happened???

looking for drz parts, any parts will do!

remove your drain bolt, place a drain pain below it, unscrew the cap. Let it drip. Close drain bolt, fill up with new eo, close cap, dispose of oil responsibly. If in doubt, change at your mechanic and learn.

Tip, do not use a spanner. Get a proper size for your draining bolt. For my phantom its 17. For yours, it may differ, check your manual. Cheers :p

Hey guys, where do you all buy the EO if you DIY? Would the time spent to DIY yourself be worthwhile as compared to the money saved on DIY-ing?

Cheers!

if ur bike is a simple one like cub, it would be satisfying and definitely worthwhile.

a question for other diy-ers, any way we could make some money out of use eo? other than that, where do you dispose of the eo?
