which is the best to place to go dynojet???

Are you talking about dynojet carburator kit or the EFI PowerComd??

If juz a dynojet kit..doesn't really matter which shop you go..If you're talking about PC III den its a bit of a headache..

We have one experience and reputable tuner but the dynomometer is not up to date and not of the same brand..ie; Dynojet. His machine also give higher HP nos compared to others..

We have 2 latest tuning centres using Dynojet dynomometer but the tuners are not as experience or reputable as above..

Haiz!!! Tough choice...

I'm planning to get a jet kit done on my 01 R1. What's the name of the 3 shops you mention? Roughly how much to get it installed. Do they jet it then run it on the dyno to tune it?

Posted

Pleasure Motor..Looi's Motor..Unity.

I'm nt too sure hw much they charge ley..For jet kit, most like when they run on dyno is to check air/fuel ratio then they tune accordingly..A nicely tune bike will have the A/F graph in a nice curve near (for example) 13 line (i dun noe what is the unit measurement called)

try Looi's...but must make appoinment i think. :goodluck:

I just went to Unity yesterday to get a quote on installing my PC3, which i have already bought, and to dyno my bike.

To my horror, they quoted me $400 buck. And I kept asking him if he was sure of the price and he didn't budge.

I know this price is ridiculous as i checked with Pleasure Motor and was quoted less than half of Unity's amount.

Can someone care to share how much did they got their bike dyno-ed inclusive of installing their PC3 (and not inclusive of purchase) from Unity.

I'm also gonna check with Looi's this week before i decide.

I was quoted $630 for a brand new PC3 at Unity. I changed my mind on fixing it cos I don't play track...

guys i will reommend pleasure ah tak.. he is a friendly guy and a careful guy. but u got to spend a lot of time over there as he take his time to do his job. but it will definitly worth the time waiting as he really take care of ur bike.. for pricing wise his is the cheapest among the 3 shop..

As for Dynojet i used to install on my R101 too but i rather not to fit it as it doesnt help much at all (waste of money).. for power commander wise heard from fren saying unless u change to a full systems otherwise it is actually not necessary..

Dear Wild i,

Harley Davidson Power Commander has got a extra built-in IGNITION MODULE which also at the same time got to be custom map (Step 2), after mapping the Air/Fuel Ratio (Step 1). So, after mapping Step 1 & Step 2, then we have to remap the Air/Fuel again (Step 3).l Sound confusing isn't it !!!!!. Whereas all Japanese models Power Commander dun have the Ignition Module built in it (have to buy separately).

Also we include installing a REV-XTEND a original Dynojet program, into ur PC3. This software will helps to increase ur original trottle cut-off @ 5,500 rpm to 6,200 rpm !!!!!!!!

So I hope it will help to answer some of ur questions pertaining to the quotation that you enquire with us. Any more enquires, please feel free to contact us.

Thank You

One point, i like to highlight. How do you know that the other 2 tunning centre tunner are not experience and reputable as the one you mention that have a more outdated dyno machine??Care to give expamle????? you been there to have your bike tuned?? And after tunning it worse than not tunning???

Not really , like wat honkibiker say , Harley Davidson Power Commander has got a extra built-in IGNITION MODULE .

Normally tunning for a normal sport bike, will cost about $150-$180 if you have got a PC3 already.

If we add on a ignition module to our PC3 it will cost $750 just for the ignition module plus tunning. So tunning for ignition module will cost about $250.

But here is the caught, you cant tune your add on ignition module only, if say you had already tune your PC3.

You need to retune your PC3 before you can tune the ignition module.

So by adding that a $180+$250=$430.

And haven plus the $$$ you spend for tunning before you add the ignition module which usually cost $650 for a pc3 plus tunning.

But i think unity usually will give discount for customer that had already bought a PC3, and after that want to add on a ignition module to give better performance.

And for tunning a PC3, it usually take at least half a day. The tunner will run form your 1st gear to your last gear. tunning from as low as 15000rpm to your bike max RPM. So you guess how long it need to take to run a full custom map. Tunner that can tune a bike in less than 3 hr, i would say , he had downloaded a map form dynoject and maybe change a bit on the top end.

And if you say you want to tune a PC3 plus ignition module, it would take maybe 2-3 day to complete it. As you bike cant be over heat when tunning, so it need to rest during interval.

haiyah..I'm not trying to create a scene among fans of various tuning centres lei.

I've been to Pleasure and I've been to Looi's. Bought my PC III from Pleasure and had my 1st custom dyno mapping there. The overall hp gain from the 1st mapping is not up to my liking. Dats all I want to say. (145hp to 149hp)

After additional mods done here and there..I was recommended by Bikewerks to get my bike retuned by Looi's. Before the bike was sent to Looi's I remembered my mileage. My bike was ridden over to Looi's not towed and then tuned. The initial base run was 156hp. After tuning it came to 165hp. Upon returning from the tuning, I came to collect my bike. I took a look at my speedo..only increased by 3km!! I suspected my bike was not custom mapped but only received a downloaded map from the net cause if custom map, must start from a zero map and every rpm at an interval of 250rpm must be tuned. So base on my calculations from the Pleasure experience, a custom map will take at least 1 whole day and whole lot more km(distance) will be covered and shown on my mileage. But at that point of time, I was both quite happy and angry. Happy cos my bike showed alot of improvement(hp) and angry cos I felt cheated. I want a custom map and not a downloaded map...BUT my anger is so called baseless cos I'm not there to see it myself.

NExt stop, Unity. I wil go to Unity for a custom map or juz a base run soon but dun noe when. I want to compare my current numbers(165hp) to the numbers the dynomometer at Unity will show. Only then I can give a better opinion for myself after trying all 3 tuning centres.

No offense to anyone or shop..this is juz my own experience.
