i suggest this goes last on your bike... meaning only install when your bike is fully ok. no point waste those $ 1st.

Wah luckily its FOC if not may cost you a few hundred. Anyway my advise is for you to go down to the shop and see the problem because it involves your engine block. And when the shop have done top overhaul go down to view the finished product before they assemble back the engine bike. Seeing for yourself is believing as you may not know whether they really do the job well or just half past six work. I went to the bike shop for 2 days to see my mechanic do a full servicing on my g4!

top overhaul = the top part of the engine.

so thats = valve clearance, gaskets etc.

when these are done, a coolant flush will be done as well.

but since he opened up the top, would be a good time to check on other things as well?

Eg. cam chain, spocks etc.

after which i'll ride over to a mech i trust, do a engine flush, eo/filter/plug change

while at it, service the carbs, replace floats and jets if needed.

then i am good to go for a long time to come. :D

so whens the next track session? bring me go walkwalk lei

eh bro, not really chim. dun think so complicated la. lol

what i meant to say is, since the top of the engine is opened, we just take the chance

to check the rest of the stuff there as well la.

then since we do that, i am a bit kiasu so i will flush the engine and change the oil/filter.

i will also change the spark plugs. then since all these are done, i'll take the chance to service and syn my carbs. so everything is ok ler, can last me a long time to come mah.

personal preference only. dun take as guideline hor

guys, i see mech use 4 gauages to tune carbs.

but never really look @ it. so like to know where

should the needle point @ to be consider good tuning?

i aint an expert at this but heres what i recall/found for u.

understand what is carb syn, wad it does etc.

carb syn measures the amount of valve opened on each carb when u squeeze tat throttle.

we syn it coz we wan them to open at the same time, at around the same amount.

many things have to be factored in.

jets (mains, pilots etc), carb rubber seals, carb models and sizes (1234 dun different la), even plugs, exhaust and oil lines play a part.

thats why we will usually clean and service the carbs, replacing any worn parts first, before syn.

we connect the vaccum pipes to each of the 4 carbs, syn 1 and 2 first, then 3 and 4.

then we will syn both sets to be as close as possible.

depends on how lean or rich u wan it to run also has a part to play?

refering to the earlier post, this is why when i do something to the engine, i do everything at once.

spend a bit more $ and have assurance my ride will not break down on me or compromise on performance etc.

again, i might be wrong. have only serviced carbs myself once or twice wif help of mechanics.
