I have tried to fix a konk CDI for bandit before, from another bandit rider, although without success. Here is what you can try to do before spending $400++

1. Use a dremel and cut around the CDI horizontally, use the marking on the cover as guide, and open it up.

http://img3.imagevenue.com/loc251/th_88c_PICT0037.JPG

2. Use some blunt srew driver or acetone to remove the epoxy holding down the electrical components on the electronic board.

3. Pull the electronic board out of grooves from the cut open cover.

http://www.imagevenue.com/loc152/th_10b_PICT0033.JPG

4. Look for 4 capacitor on the board desolder and solder new ones, take note of the temp range and polarity.

http://www.imagevenue.com/loc254/th_e44_PICT0039.JPG

http://img2.imagevenue.com/loc130/th_b48_PICT0036.JPG

5. Test on the bike, if it still doesn't start continue to step 6. If bike fires up you have successfully repaired your CDI, and try to waterproof the CDI.

http://img1.imagevenue.com/loc163/th_9ee_PICT0040.JPG

6. Look for 2 transistor on the board (the black color chip on the heat sink), desolder and solder new ones. if it still doesn;t start probably the kokusan chip is gone. Either look for a used one or a brand new CDI at $400.

1.where to get the trip reset nod ? price? ---> not sure

2. at what rpm is 100km/h? ---> Depends wads ur sprocket size. 15 front 44 rear is at 5.8krpm. 14 front 46 rear is at 6.5krpm. 14 front 44 rear is ard 6krpm (best sizing recommended as default)

3. anibody experiance 'choking' at 1-4k rpm? How long u nv wash ur carb liao. Go try K&T or combine motor.

4. which motodiam can do the wiremesh removal at the header? K&T $50. BUt do wire removal alone i afraid da boss wont wanna do it.

u can use a monkey tool(nid adjust the gap) or a c-tool, either one will do...7 clicks and u will hear a loud thud to indicate one level up/down

if i not wrong clockwise means harder, anticlockwise means softer(direction taken from sitting on bike)

that is true..if thats the case, mabbe at the same time can ask the bikeshop to check on the ignition coil if its in working condition...

cos that time when i changed my CDI to a working 2nd hand one, the mech did say sth abt a faulty coil may foul a workable CDI

harden the fork might require changing of fork oil/seals...my fork before changing of fork oil and seals are quite soft too...

after changing those, they are now firmer:smile:
