Install the katana shock myself today, alot of work, no wonder shops want to charge $50 for workmanship. The spring is bigger, but manage to squeeze it in from the top, only mod is need a washer at the bottom because the katana shock bottom end is slightly bigger. Sat on it, feels hard but bike very stable.

Confidence in performance means can make a see-through case.

·Special condenser and original circuitry design bring the voltage stability.

·A blue LED helps you identify any possible wiring mistakes.

(Even with the key off, the LED only uses 0.5mA of power, so no need to worry about a dead battery)

·Internal Dual Fuse to help prevent electrical shorts.

·Heat resistant (to 125‹C) case will not change shape.

·Circuitry has waterproof coating. (But do not to install in areas subject to water or spray with water)

Pls give me good and bad feedback of this product as i going to take in a lot. Thanks.

um. okay got quite a silly question to ask.

when riding in rain, why will the machine's response be like.. going into reserve mode? like when I throttle hard, the engine "chokes". Is it rain water getting into the carburetor, or something else? x.x

and an even sillier question.. tire profile for the G4 is 120/160 right?

x.x

From my guess is that for the bike to run, there is a optimum operating temp(tink it affects the density of air in the bike - hot air expands, cold air contracts etc) So when it rains, the bike is kept much cooler by the rain water and the air being taken in is also cooler, thus its more dense affecting the air/fuel ratio which in turn affects the idling. Juz like it gets sluggish when your temp hits more than 1/2 or 3/4 during traffic jams. Hot air being less dense affects the air/fuel ratio the other way round.

I'm no expert so do correct me if i'm wrong......

If i remember correctly its 120(front)/160(rear) if thats what you mean. tink i'll go check mine later....lol

thanks for the explanation! but I don't think that is the case in my scenario.

because I had quite a hard time riding the bike on the expressway in relatively heavy rain conditions. it's like.. for example my throttle wrist is at a constant but the power output of the bike is like "choking". Like it is going to die off.

and it did! at the carpark. x.x

could not start it but it started after awhile. wondering is it because of water getting into the carburetor? or something else.

heard it is a common problem with G4 as well, so wondering if any others experienced it.

hmm.. i have a similar prob as u.. however not on the road. at cp b4 i start the bike

it was during a wet cold night.. same choking sound.. but i juz gave it a while, open the choke and ok liao...

Its better to think for a minute than to talk crap for an hour. Better talk crap for an hour than to keep quiet the whole day..

Hmm....it might be the case. I've heard of this from some other riders but personally my bike has never gave me that problem even in the heaviest of rains.

How about after the rain? the next day etc?

sigh. don't know why leh. only happens in medium to heavy rain conditions though..

when I rolled into the carpark after reaching home (after the ride home in the rain), it died.. and I couldn't start it.. no cranking some more. Like all electricity cut off.. until after a minute or 2.. then it "revived".

question mark. x.x

"You float like a feather.. In a beautiful world.."

My guess is its an electrical problem. water is causing problems somewhere, and after you stopped for awhile, it evaporated, thats why it "revived"

Had the problem with my Monster too. Changing the spark plug cable and plug caps solved the problem :thumb:

I experienced Stardust's problem once only last week. Bike was left in heavy rain while I rode my scrambler to work.

Went home, changed bike, wanna start then PIAK!!!, all lights went off..

:faint:

I started from the source first, i.e the battery and saw that the terminals kena rain water. I touch the terminal one time, finger kena sparks :giddy: ... In Japanese, we call this a very kaninabe symptom.

Dried the terminals, tighten up the screws and insulate it, and I add a leather pad below the rider seat to at least help prevent direct rain water drippin onto the terminals and fuses.

Bout the choking thing, yeap I have that too. If straightaway ride of course. Morning or after-rain starts, normally I let him warm up for 3-5 minutes. Better to waste that time rather than have a farked-up feeling riding the beast.

Bout the bike going into reserve mode feel, had that last night after maintaining 160 on 2nd link. Wanna start cannot maintain. In the end, increased idling and all was fine again.
