I personally wouldn't go for OGK cos e price is not that far from Arai, therefore might as well invest a few hundred more in a premium handmade Arai. AGV to me is overpriced, cos u can get identical performance & quality from an Arai.

IMHO; Nova, Zeus, THH, GPR, Hyper, MGP & the likes fall under the same category. Pricewise, I agree MHR does fall in with them with a few dollars in excess, but if ure talking in terms of performance especially vent systems which is crucial in our tropical climate, MHR offers the best. Proper helmet fitting is important so u feel snug, safe & confident of the security the lid offers u. Of course MHR cannot be compared to an Arai. Every single Arai is handmade, therefore precision is there. With the best vent system it offers, Paiseh, i believe it's not the helmet, but maybe u gotta get a shorter haircut hehehe.

ARAI :cheer: :cheer: Light and good. Also proven in accident. Got a fren because of his arai full face, that save those deep scar on his lips area.

OGK, price wise, like mentioned before, the FF4 will cost $400. The lower end Arai will cost you abt $500 if i remember correctly(the Astro-TR) Whereas the RX7 and Rapide-SR will set you back by abt $690. If you wan graphics, will cost you $590 and $790 respectively.

I agree that the AGVs are extemely overpriced. If you know how much they bring it in for you'll probably jump off the top of their building.

Another factor is the preference, some like the fierce look of the OGKs, some like the arai's graphics, whichever rocks your boat.

I would advise you to get a helmet you can afford but always find the one that best suits your head. A cheaper helmet that fits your head like second skin is better den one that gives you a constant headache throughout your ride.

Just grip the cap firmly, and pull up. Please dont grap the wire and pull.

Hey riders of Suzuki GSX400,

I am a 2B phantom rider who has a lobang from a friend who wishes to sell his GSX-R 400 bike fast. Its a FL plate and he would like to sell at around 1200 neg. As I do not know anything about this kind of bikes, any advice on whether this is a good deal.

Also would like to find out what do i need to look out for when i arrange a meeting with the owner. is the engine of this bike problematic? As i am not currently a 2B rider so is that any way i can transfer the ownership of his bike to me without a licence or do i have to find a friend with class 2A?

Would like some advices before i commit to any decisions but hope i can join you guys as riders of GSX 400.

On whether you need a class 2A licence to do the transfer i'm not too sure.... mabbe some of the other guys can clarify that.

If you wan to have a look at the bike, preferbly bring a fren who is riding a 2a bike to go along with you... else i'm sure some of the guys here will be more den willing to help you out.

Whether the G4 is a problematic bike.... both Yes and No. Yes if the previous owner is a loser who doesn't take care of the bike..... n it shows on the bike especially for the G4. No if the person loves his bike n gives it tender loving care(like me  )

As i always say.... dun jump into buying a bike the moment you see it cos its 80% a wrong decision. View the bike, tink abt its condition, do your sums den get back to the owner. You'll save yourself alot more $$ n trips to the mech.

Guys, where in SG can I find a G4 guru mechanic?

If you want someone well versed in the stock bike, i recommend Guan Hoe.

Tuning, i'd recommend K&T or Bikewerks(or works i can't rem)

i would hav to say 1.2k would be a very gd deal.. but also depending on the bike condition. would be gd to hav someone frm the forums help u take a look. jus to be safe put a side some cash in case there is a need to fix up the g4. common problems due to depreciation would be suspension, cdi n rectifier. see ur luck! cheers! =)

addictive -> rectifier? u might wanna try planet. i saw 1 g4 there today that i think he wanna scrap... may have the rectifier u wanted. 67474740

anyway, changed my clutch plates (8 of them) plus 3 bottles of castrol r4 and oil filter at planet for 170 bucks? is that considered cheap?

and something abt carb wash/tune. I heard that its time to do so if the response/pickup is sluggish. My response (when u rev the trottle and see the corresponding rev meter) is a bit slow but the mechanic said that thats normal for a g4. He said if he 'increased' the needle, respond will improve but high end will suffer... On top of that, he said better not wash "coz later the problems will start comming in".. hmm... so question is , do i wash/tune?

Its better to think for a minute than to talk crap for an hour. Better talk crap for an hour than to keep quiet the whole day..

Which mech?

Well, if washing your carbs will start giving you problems..... den you'll juz be stuck wif the sluggish response wouldn't you?

Doesn't sound logical to me thou.......

thats what i thought also... i mean, logically wouldn't washing improve the condition? the one who told me that was Ah chong i think... the oldest fella there..

he said that my response was normal.. but i compared it to another gsx bike, its different leh... thats why i thought of washing it...

or maybe planet does not wash/tune g4 carbs.. i read that guan hoe or K&T does good tuning for g4 issit?
