May I know what is cdi and rectifier?

FL plate is roughly how old the bike? must be quite old because I am riding a 2 year phantom with FW plate

put it this way cdi is the device that control the spark plug electrical ignition so that engine can start running and rectifer is some crappy metal that convert dc to ac current or vice versa from the charging electricity from magnetic coil to your battery.

as for FL, it is supposed to be a 1994 plate.

just to add in... CDI = capacitor discharge ignition ( i think so) function is to sequence the firing order of the 4 spark plugs. As for the rectifier its function is to convert ac to dc current...becos the magneto in our bikes produce only ac current thus all bikes require a recitifer to convert ac to dc for the electrical components.

FL plater 1994 should be gsxrrp or rn model huh?

do you guys think the difference between 53 and 59 hp is significant?

if its late 1994, shud be RP model...

i suppose the difference of 53bhp and 59bhp can be felt...

However if referring to the difference to the pre-1993/1993's 59 and post-1993's 53 of gsxr400, my guess is that it might not show up as longer engine wear and tear of the pre-1993/1993's 59 unrestricted model might jus offset its greater torque

haha jus my thoughts

then like that is it better to have a mech check a prospective g4 before buying?

-_-" /ignore

just stating my opinion.. to make u happy...

MAIN POINT:- best to put some aside cash for the common wear n tear parts which might hav to be changed if there is a problem. If there is no problem, then thats gd.. jus like my babe. =)

hope i hav painted a clearer picture so others might not think otherwise.

Is it leaking like it is peeing? Most likely your float is dirty or spoilt liao tt's why the spring is unable to bounce back and trap the petrol from flowing out. Each float set is cost ard $35/= for ya info.

Mine is late FK plate, RP model too. Vey fast pick up, top end never tried, only did a short blast once at 180km/h with you guys last time.

In fact this 400 cc accelerates faster than my 750cc maybe the power to weight ratio. My old 750 weighs over 220kg with 90hp (dyno at the rear wheel).

Power to weight ratio

750WP 90/220 = 0.49

400RP 53/169 = 0.31
