i am using it since no more gpr70.

went for a 10+ laps in pg. alrite..

but i noticed that it'll start slidin after. esp when u throt too much while bankin.

for commuting purposes, no problem.

Went to Mah motor workshop to fix HEL stainless steel brake hose today, cost S$210 with installation. Also ask them to synchronize my carbs for S$30 (bargain)..hehehe

 

Bike feels very smooth and responsive now. As for the braking system, really feel the different. Better braking now as compared to the original rubber hose. Worth the money spent, feel safer now.

1. there is no such thing as best EO.

2. yes there is an EO named royal purple. pretty cheap too.

3. there is no legal yoshi for gsxr400. illegal also dun have full sys. just race can.

na, I didn't check out the other stuff.

Wanted to get the mirrors and stainless steel hose, but they don't have the 'chiong' mirrors. So only fix the brake hose.

 

But I will go back to them if I need to wash my carbs, as they synchronized it too. Unless some shops which just clean it. (which happens to my last carb servicing. )

hahaha rilek lah squid. sometimes asking questions here get faster response. i know i trawled through so many hundreds of pages also very little info - i only learnt mdm wong's was very hot once upon a time ago

 

anyway how much would replacing our clutch, brake and fuel hoses? think we're supposed to change them every 4 years so i tht i might as well do it now. anyone has any estimate?

 

and i am not too sure abt our servicing schedule. any comments on the list below?

 

every 6k clicks - EO

every 12k clicks - change spark plug

every 18k clicks - oil filter

 

every 2 years - coolant, brake fluid, clutch fluid

every 4 years - change brake, fluid n fuel hoses

 

lastly,

is throttle valve synch the same as carb synch?

wats tappet clearance?

i read 18k clicks also supposed to change air cleaner element. wth is tt?

correct me if I am wrong,

1) Check engine, run it around and see smooth or not

2) Overheating?

3) Brake Disc plate

4) Fork got leaking or not

5) Engine or petrol leaking?

Unless you know what a gd condition one will sound like its kinda hard to know if the engine is ok. I've seen a few guys block the exhaust and see if the bike will die out but dunno the reasoning behind that.

Overheating is sure to happen on this baby if you keep it running stationary. only thing that will keep if from going all the way to the other side of the meter is the fans that will kick in.

Rear brake discs tend to have uneven wear. You'll see alot of lines along the circumference of the disc face. if the wear is quite alot you'll have to change it soon. Front discs are usualy prone to being loose. Gd ones will not move or produce any sound when you move them in any direction.

Forks, no need to say. all the same

Look for oil stains on the cam covers, engine covers etc.

Check the swingarm, and importantly the rear suspension. Most are koyak already.

Fairing screw points. Some are already gone and pple use metal plates or cable tie to fix them in place.
