The engine got smashed when 1 of the piston con-rod broke. More information here http://doksg.multiply.com/photos/album/15/.and_the_memory_remains..... I have posted some photos of the engine there.

If I wanna sell for the parts, I dont think any of the parts are worth it. Maybe the tires.

Who wants the tires? $70 a pair. Michelin Power Race.

so serious ah... tires thread left?

I am afraid to say, the threads on the sides are almost worn out, but the ones in the middle are still quite deep.:bounce:

If you intend on buying it, please give me a week to settle my bike. Seems like my friend found a place which is able to change the whole engine at a cheaper price.:D

I'll let you know if my bike will be undergoing repairs or not.:slurp:

wow the damage looks pretty bad, wouldn't have known if i didn't get a look at the pics.

with repairs approaching that kind of figures, i really dont think it would be a good idea to get it done.

you would probably be better off getting another bike bro, might wanna consider writing this one off as a loss?

btw, with regard to scrapping procedure, it appears that LTA have changed their regulations.

according to my mech, whom i approached a few weeks ago to discuss how i should go about scrapping a bike, in the past, it was sufficient to present the engine cover and chassis number.

however, the policy has changed. apparently, when scrapping you need to preserve a skeletal outlook, ie. can take out fairings, handgrips, meters, etc. it must still looks like a bike though, so stuff like the rims, tyres must be present.

i cannot confirm this though, so if any bros here knows for sure, please let us know

Hey bro,

Thanks for the advise. Will take a note of them.;)

Anyway, I have second thoughts about scrapping it. I have not ride it enough. It's been only 3 months, and still under installment to have this thing happened.:gun:

My friend told me that a bike shop has a g4 for scrap, but the engine is still in good condition, still need some re-working, but as long as it is legal, and a cheaper alternative, I think I'll get more info on this great deal.:bounce:

Thanks for the advise...

Thinking to get a beat up G4 for restoration project, I would need the left front fork, tires, chain, who;e set of faring and fuel tank. Alternative you can buy that beat up gixxer and slavage the engine. :)

Guys,

I do not wish to place an offer for my bike parts yet. My bike will be undergoing repairs, if I can get a confirmation from another mechanic about a new engine.

I'll keep you posted once I get the confirmation.

Thank you all.

Hi i taking my 2A next week intend to get a gsx.. in fact i already put downpayment for it..

so i wanna ask wat is the price of the insurance???? i am 24 this year

You have to check with the insurance company.

For a guide, mine was $465, age 25, riding experience less than 2 yrs and applies to Suzuki and NTUC. This was last year October.

That was 3rd party. It is high because I only started riding in 2007. Got my 2A at 2008.
