DN-01 on sale in 07

Honda’s hydraulic-drive DN-01 – shown as a prototype in 2005 - will go into production in 12 months. It could consign conventional gear-changes to the history books. Insiders say it will be on sale in Japan early next year and be available in Europe by the end of 2007.

It uses a V-twin engine developed from the Deauville’s 65bhp, 680cc unit. But instead of conventional gears, the DN-01’s engine is connected to a hydraulic pump, which sends hydraulic fluid to a turbine driving the rear wheel via a shaft. Valves alter the flow of hydraulic fluid to offer a completely variable transmission.

Four wheels move the body. Two wheels move the soul.

Deauville ... ! :faint:

My first thought was at least the previous Honds X4 1300cc thingy ... for that ... it will be something.

Here is one Honda X4 pic from Europe that has done an excellence job. :thumb:

I would say this new to release model is just technologically advance, but may not be the most ideal bike one might purchase. A 680cc engine on such a big bike which, looked heavy as well. We shall see how it goes when the specification is announced, but certainly from the physical styling and design, it does resemble the X4 picture you posted.

Its a automatic sport cruiser, with Low & Long design concept

With a screen GPS navigation, ABS, speaker, seems very nice for a long highway cruising. But for twisties, not sure if it will be less fun ...

Just shutdown the GPS. Probably will be less distracting that way :cheeky:

Honda keep pushing back the manufacture of this bike so, it is hard to say whether it will ever get into a mass production or even see a release in 2008. As usual, rumour had set the release date to be in August 2008.
