Should I reserve one at A S Phoon since I'm still waiting to take my TP? :D

Is the 8.6k you quoted inclusive of the interests from the installments you are taking?

And what are the freebies they throw in also?

All the best with your TP!

I'd advice ya to concentrate on passing TP first before sigining to purchase any bike..do consider several bike models out there..you got lots of time and the bikes won't run/fly away one.. =)

Currently I'm fishing around for information regarding various bikes of sports genre, not committed to any bikes as of yet as I'm comparing the pros and cons, and price.

For me, have narrowed down to 3 choices, R15, Honda CBR150, Daelim Roadwin R125.

CBR hard to find 1st hand stock whilst roadwin is too big for myself in my opinion, only 1.7m, though the specifications are tempting :/

Advise if possible :D

most value for money is CBR150, the price is lowest i guess, but it's kinda small.

R15 is bigger and slightly more expensive than CBR150, but still small, the tires(100mm rear) makes me feel like i'm riding a cub..

I will suggest getting the RoadWin if you have the budget, it looks big, and 2 years warranty from the agent is cool..

freespire: u got the user manual, i sure it explains there.... its gd for all riders to read thru the user manual at least once to understand ur bike better

deltabox: rear can go up to 120 so confirm u wont feel like a cub :)

any recommendations how to boost the R15 pick up?

Change air filter, it helps alittle. But I think the best is u just whack the throttle, open max straight. Haha

@mr grumpy, wont changing the tire size affect the riding? from what i read online they say the size of tyre that comes with the bike is the best, thus changing it may affect the bike? thanks for your reply =D

when i got my bike its alrdy rear 110 so when i changed from 110 to 120 the difference was little, maybe if u change from 100 to 120 the difference might take awhile to get used to, for me i feel more comfort and cornering feel is better, well and of cos looks nicer :D

in the end is for u to weigh the pros and cons and see wad u like bro

OH icic =D cause a mechanic told me at a shop "not going to mention which" that changing the rear or front tire will cause the bike to lose its actual top speed and all the stuff la. like cornering will be worse cause of the size of the tyre blah blah blah but a quick search on google cleared it hahahas.

real life experience is diff from say say. mechanic may or may not be right also. it differs. maybe to u the larger size give more grip but sacrifices top speed. which to u might not be felt but the real speed of the machine may decrease. very complicated la >.

For those asking about the price:

I went to Bike Production earlier this month, and they quoted me $6K (inclusive of a $1252 price for COE), not including insurance. COE prices have been rising, so the bid price turned out to be $1502. This makes the OTR price around $6250.

I'm a 23-year-old P-plate rider, and BP said I had to pay a little more for insurance as it's my first bike. Damage: $1040

R15 is out of stock so far. I've been calling BP and Hong Leong Corp directly to ask them when they know the bike is coming in. HLC very helpfully told me to call back in November. We may thus infer that the bike might only come in sometime mid-November, or later.

So still no bike, but I've made my order. For those who want to buy, hang in there! I'm counting down the days till the bike finally reaches our hazy shores. :>
