Is it possible to do a split-seat for R-15 V1?

If so, what are the procedures involved? Thanks!

It is possible to do a split seat for R15 V1. The original body frame will remain intact and a fabricated fiber material will replace your entire rear seat section. You will not have any compartment and you might have crack or chip frame after installation and usage. If your pillion is heavy, the chances are higher. Also, u will not have a proper locking system. U will not able to shift yr buttocks like most riders could in a fast track environment as it will break the sole screw system.

Hi Guys. Im a NOOBie here and would like to seek help from Senior here.

Been thinkin to convert my license to 2B (Which is V.Soon) and im really confused what bike to get?

Saw R15 V2 is quite good but compared to R125, i prefer R125 model. Any1 know where can i get the R125 Brand new in SG? And roughly how much does it cost for R15 V2 & R125? Any recommended shop & seller?

I dont really look much on the speed area as i love the LOOKS most rather than the speed. Many thanks for the upcoming info!

Firstly congrats! Conversion itself is already a hassle, good luck :)

But just a friendly caution.. I do not believe when people say "I do no go for speed but just looks." Trust me, thats the easiest to falter than compared to saying "I will not upgrade to higher CC bike."

If you're looking at tying yourself down to a 200cc and below bike for atleast 2 years, I suggest you not buy a brand new bike. That is unless you have extra spare cash.

Anyhow, you need to consider alot of things here.

- Insurance (Depends on your age, what cc, what bike model, experience.)

I'm guessing it will set you to some 1K atleast.

- Road tax (64 for a year, 32 for 6-months)

- COE (prevailing rate)

- Registration fee ($140)

- Bike (Machine price)

- GST (7% of the machine price)

- IU unit + Bracket

R125

Fierce look, first introduce in year 2009. No changes ever since and there is only one place that sells it. It will be LOOIs" which is at Khaki Bukit. You can try to google the place out.

125cc (not actual) and spare can only be found on ebay or looi's itself. Not easy to find parts should you need to replace them.

The machine price for this thing is 10,500

So all in all without insurance will set you up to some 15K onwards.

R15 V2.

Launched just last quarter of 2011. Mainly just a minor few upgrades from the existing V1. Beefed up the rear, incremental in the length of the swingarm. Tail like inspired by the counter part R6. Generally a little tweak to the ECU to map it up a little with the increase in rear tire and larger sprocket.

Machine will be some 6,000 onwards.

So all in all will be around 8,000 to 8,500 excluding insurance.

Thanks for the comments bro. Back where i came from, i use to speed and do illegal racing in my teenage years. As im in the late 20's now, i really do NOT willing to speed especially here in Singapore. Besides, Singapore road has many cameras and i DO NOT wish to have problems with the law here. Currently riding CBR250R in my home town but sadly i cant get that in Singapore. So just trying to get a normal YZF.

Thanks for your opinion bro, i will keep R15 V 2 in mind.

Oh! CBR250R is available here. But I'm guessing it would not be the typical dual headlamp style kinda. The version here is 2011 onwards and it was inspired by the newer range of VFR.

You can check that one out. Not a bad choice if you're really into CBR250R here.

Hi,

I'm riding a R15 v1. recently, I started hearing clicking sounds when going over the humps. sometimes a single click, sometimes several. it happens when I'm moving off but diappears once I changed to gear 2. dont always happen, just random occasions.

is there anything I should be worried about?

There are a couple of things to look out.

But it would be better if someone will be able to hear it physically. It might be the direct result of:

1) Brake dust trapped in your brake caliper.

2) Bearing inside your rim is smashed/ damaged.

3) You installed a hugger that is rubbing against your chassis because of misfit.

Once again, clicking sound can mean alot of things. Hard to determine right now.

hmm no installations done. how do I check for the brake dust?

a single click sound can be heard when the pillion seat is pushed down.

I was told by others that some bearings are damaged. any idea how much it would cost to get it fixed?

chain is alright. changed it together with sprocket just 2 months back.

rode the bike out today, everything feels alright except for the clicking sounds. sigh.

Brake dust hard to check. Need to open up everything. Need to check if your disc brake having any grey residue. Else, go to any bikeshop and ask them to blow for you. Else you spray strong water jet at your brake.. Those garden hose and your pinch the tip to create a strong flow of water
