Hey guys, can you guys recromend a good shop ? for service bike ? like oil change air filter ect.. and what r the price ranges?

Depending on what you stay though.

Generally all shop can perform simpler stuff like oil change and air filter.. No need to approach the better one.

1. save some cash

2. save some Q hassle

If you're looking into buying

1. Motul 300v racing

2. BMC/ K&N

I'd say Motul goes at 30 to 35 and air filter can go from 50 to 80 depending you wanna use the cone or just the original slide type.

hi guys, i've a dilema between fz16 and r15 v1 , but sadly the fz16 is abit costy for me and the r15 v1 is in my budjet range. can someone convince me on getting the r15 v1 ? well i wanna hear the good goods and cons of the bike .

the main reason i wanted to get fz16 is because they have a big fat rear tyre & loads of parts are available. good fc too but wont hit above 120 . you gotta risk one i guess ?

but i still wanna get r15 v1 as its still in my affordable budjet..can you guys really tell me whats good and bad about r15 v1 ? i've no clue about the bike. the only big bad thing from what i know i heard from my friend if the "inject" thing is spoilt you gotta overhaul the whole bike, true ? and the only "bad thing" is the backside of the v1 aint that good looking but still look sporty from the side and front i guess..

-top speed hit over 130km ?

-easy maintenance ?

-can you change the tyre to a bigger one?

-can the basic maintenace be done in malaysia ? and parts are available there?

-is the bike fz15 actually ?im a singaporean staying here in johor ,i've seen a group of fz15 changing their coversets to r15..is the engine all the same ? 0_o?

can you guys please state down the pros and cons about the bike ? :p REALLY APPRECIATE IT.

Appreciate you looking up upon this thread and coming here to sound things out.

But a cautionary note is that things here may be bias and please do also hear things out from other side. Nevertheless.. Heres goes..

(im still intrigue on the whole SG in M'sia but wanna own a SG bike legal thing.)

To convince you or not is not our job here. Not a salesman job but how hard you work for your research. If you wanna get the best out of the bike you should also read professional reviews and get some technical know-how (this is from the injector thing which I will talk about later.)

Consider you are comparing 2 bikes that are of entirely different make and function. This is a grieve mistake to undertake.

FZ16 no doubt is a bike that gives you the feel and looks of a streetfighter. If you subject to the option of M'sia, you can even make a R15/ FZ150i look like a R1. But the thing is.... worth it? Personally I find foolish people doing things to their bike and blindly follow bikeshops for some reason I cannot understand and install things that are superbly useless.

- good rear (so? So you're telling me spark/ wave/ fino/ Vespa are all doom on the road?)

- Nice tail

- Fuel injection

- 158cc

- rear drum brake

- instrument hud?

- seating posture.

FZ16 is a style, practical and easy to handle. Works like a street fighter and very tame. Power curve is a ittle off and top it off I can give with stock bike should be some 125km/h. Max.

Costly? Look around SG road and you find the demand is very very high. Not worth the money and the resale value.

r15 v1. Good handling, pretty fast, very very economic.

My bike stock can easily achieved 120.. Now with slight mod it actually have more low and mid, not much of a top speed but it even went 143km/h before. I believe it would be faster if I add on some more stuff.

Now now.. Injector bike does run on sensors and many other mechanism like your fuel pump, your ECU and the such. If your "inject kit" spoils.. Change it.

Why overhual? You know what is an overhual in the first place? Friend may say, but please do read up a little more so as that you will not be carrot by many friends who are friends to your wallet only.

top speed? Achievable

easy to maintain? Yes! All new small bike are..

change to larger rear? YES! But max 110/'17 or 120'17. But why bother? It only drag you down

Basic be done in M'sia? Why not? M'sia have engine oil.. oil filter.. coolant.. If I bring my R15 to USA, I can still maintain.

Parts available? No. M'sia doesn't have R15. But some other model can be use on it.. RXZ, spark, jupiter MX share some common cosmetic and limited engine parts.

NOTE**

Engine for R15 is LC4V, race build. It's entirely different from the FZ150i and FZ16 where they use commuter engine. So if you're looking at performance parts like piston, blok, conrod and the such.. look out for similar engine type bike.

Pros and con?

For bike below 400cc, it's hardly you find it with many mechanic related cons.

Fuel efficient, cheap to the pocket, easy to handle, accessible parts, limited wear and tear are some of teh common pros.

Cons? Smaller rear, not much of an outlook comparing to other counterparts like R125, RS4, Derbi GPR125.. such..

Not exactly your fastest machine.. yet.

Greatest concern is how you wanna match your expectation to.. commuter or a little sportyness.

This is a decision not easy to reach.

Yes a bit hard to visualise as you're on the right side and the chain is on the left...

Still very vague.. Can be more specific? Knocking sound can range from the smallest issue of no having enough engine oil to your engine gonna blow (literally, your piston crack and shattered into pieces inside your blok).

I position myself inline with the bike. Like.. My kuku bird is inline with the rear tire.. LOL! Sounds crude but thats what Im doing.. Behind my rear, half kneel position.

on a separate note:

On the CTE towards AYE, the long left hander between the 2 tunnels and entering the second tunnel (the one exit to dholby ghaut), how low and how fast is it possible to take the R15? anyone tried to max it there before?

I was trying out at 98 kph on lane 1, didn't go that low cuz still no confidence yet, first time riding sports bike and this kkb white colour kia tailgating me on the bend and forced me to change lane siam to lane 2 to let him pass before he crashes into me.... -_-
