Hello friends ! Can anyone share any experience of servicing/repairing their bikes at HLC . Cause Im thinking since they specifically deal in Yamaha products hence I thought prolly they know best 'bout our R15sss .. Anyone ? ThankYou !

HLC as in HL Cycle or Hong leong? It's 2 diff company.. So I reckon you mean the one at paya lebar ya?

Figuratively speaking, everywhere else repairs R15 V1 and V2 since they share the same engine as spark and also Jupiter and so on. Fz150i too. Or for instance, all bikes in general. Lead time for Hong Leong is very long since you need to book appointment with them and the wait is pretty long. Come your turn you wouldn't be able to see your bike as in like how someone is being wheeled into the ER room for operations.

But we all must agree that in SGP.... sadly. Small bike is the least of concern from these mega bike shop and generally do up bigger cc and more expensive bike since they can upsell accessories. (Who don't like extra few bucks? Right?)

So if you would mind, you can already squeeze your way through this place called "Planet Motors" just a little off Hong Leong at Ubi.. Else you can try shun li industries. Else some shops off defu or even down to Yishun.

Hong leong may carry Yamaha and might extensively know about Yamaha bike, but it doesn't mean the way they do stuff is any different from those that are outside.. So dont be fooled.

Beside, since day 1 I laid my hands on the Owner's manual, I've never once return to them.

1) Long wait

2) Unknown repair job

3) Couldn't be very bothered nor very impress with his job there

4) No variety of EO, coolants, plugs.. so on and so forth.

So, hope it helps.

i nv service my R15 in sg oso. every time do service in my fren work shop~ fully syn oil RM50+ nia, hee...

Well.. That have to depends on what you mean by "service". Regular maintenance of changing out engine oil, oil filter, coolant, spark plug, change plug cable, clutch cable etc etc etc can be seen as "service" or "maintenance".

You may be doing very simple fare there and that is fine as long as you're comfortable under your skin. So, it doesn't matter where we do it.. Like HECK! Changing a lightbulb can be $10 in a place and $2 if you DIY. Save the hefty trouble of getting into Qs, getting your precious 70bucks passport stamped, petrol money, clocking mileage, risk this and that.

Ok, I maybe over thinking things. HAPPY TUESDAY!

Agree pretty much with all 4 points.. and u can't even ask them to help u install aftermarket accessories/parts. :)

Anw , what is the aprox rpm range for gears 1-3 ? I've tried looking at the tachomtr and agak2 when to shift up but in the end I think following the "feel" is kinda much more better than following the tacho ..For I sometimes end up either over revvin' or under power .. lol .And if my post here sounds totally noob then you're right for i am a total noob here sincerely looking to learn

I am currently running in mine r15v2 now and I find the gear shifting very comfortable around 6k rpm so you might want to try around that range. but if yours is already run in I believe you can hit aroudn 7k and not be a problem as wel

clutch release,

gear 1 usable >2.5k.

rest gears usable >4k.

shift up, your rpm will drop 1~2k rpm to match the speed.

so you should wait at least your rpm >6k to shift up.

and be careful in shifting down when your rpm is high...need to match properly...

shifting can refer to engine sound when you are used to it..

Btw i read up on the manual , it says under 500km try not rev up more than 5k rpm then after 500km - 1000km , not more than 7.5k rpm .. So actually runnin in not based on speed but rather the rpm range .. Lol .. Shop always say .. "Hmm 80km/hr can lah .." ..but if 80km/hr it is more than 5k rpm is'nt it esp for the first 500km ? Maybe I think the manual is just to "play safe" ..

Hey guys i got r15 v2 only 1.5 years old. License FBG. However, after few months of riding (i bought 2nd hand 30000km done). The engine gave me stuttering sounds and on idle it vibrates badly and my acceleration was really bad. I brought it to mechanic at defu lane and he say need overhaul so he did. Now i'm running in and about 300km in (i did keep the rpm below 5000km) its back to the same problem. Does anyone know how to solve this issue? Any good mechanic to recommend?

I've done a lot of research online and found some causes very closely related to my symptoms. 1. Valve clearance = have read that can cause bad idle, poor power and loud noise. 2. Cam Chain Tensioner = about the same as valve clearance

Can anyone please help me :( my r15 was doing well at the start, can go up to 130kph no problem and rpm can fly to 10k but now it goes to 7-8k rpm like as if its hitting 10k rpm and speed max 117 thereabouts. Anyway running in done. So this is definitely a problem. I need a trustworthy mechanic to fix this. Any recommendations.

Thanks for the reply, Im thinking of taking it to Team HKL at bukit merah this friday. Its getting from bad to worst. Today whilw riding I at 70kmph the bike was vibrating all over. And I couldn't climb slopes well. Cause my acceleration was super bad even pulling the throttle all the way doesnt bring rpm up above 7k. Really sad :( desperate for a fix.

ehh my suggestion better dont ride for the mean time, safety first bro, your life is worth more then the risk.. if you know how to remove the fairing, you can try changing the spark plug yourself.. if not go straight into the work shop asap to get them fix it, it is very dangerous espically when you need the pick up and you dont have it, you can be safe but the other road user may not be.. they wont know you are having problems with the bike.. they will just cut you dangerously..
