I cannot believe that the same taxi VRN SHC383J with probably same driver with a history of inconsiderate driving since 2010 if your post is anything to go by. Due my bad encounter couple of days back with the same taxi, I googled SHC383J which brought me to your post r15 as well as the following

(for not signalling) - [i don't know if the driver did signal when he filtered into your lane [color=#FF0000]r15[/color], since it was not mentioned in your post).

My bad encounter with taxi SHC383J - White Mercedez Benz result in the driver who did not signal and subsequently stopped me in the middle of a junction for horning at him (for not signalling) when turning.

The matter is now with traffic police together with evidence of his stopping his vehicle and forcing mine to stop in the middle of a junction although there was no accident involved.

I believe it is likely to be the same cab driver who is in the habit of not signalling nor care for the safety of other road users.

Therefore, while your post may be 4 year old, I hope the authorities will catch up with him this time with concrete evidence to at least give him some demerit points for inconsiderate and dangerous driving as well as bad road behaviour.

i felt sorry for your encountered, must report him man very bad driver! make sure he get something at least a warning letter from his company. causing dangarous on the road.

Today while riding my bike, i was almost killed by a mad limo cab driver at abt 9pm..

that mad driver suddenly lane change at the traffic junction at rochor road from lane 3 to 4, beside the OG, i ebrake and almost crashed into his cab.. less than 50cm.. phew..

 

i was pillioning ppl, and that moment i was really angry as he is really reckless.. then i cut into the middle of lane 3 and 4 to overtake him. after the traffic light, i was riding in front of his cab, then he was very irritated as i was riding very slowly as the traffic is quite heavy.

 

Then he keep flashing his high beam and suddenly lane change to my right and cut into my lane, coming very very close to me, almost got sideswiped by him, i horn and horn, but he just keep closing in, i got no choice but to move to the left lane. he have passenger in his cab at that time, and he still drive so recklessly, total madness.. i will be contacting the cab company to complain him.. crazy driver.. his license plate is SHC383J, white colour limo merc cab..

 

dear fellow riders, pls be careful while riding, some taxi drivers are really reckless.. almost had accident with taxis for quite a few times liao..

Hi all, hoping to get feedback from R15 rider.

 

I am looking to get a 2nd hand bike, I found R15 extremely sexy, decent power, and reliable too.

But one concern for me is that the seat looks uncomfortable, well I guess it is common for a sportbike.

How you all find the riding posture of this bike? I will be using it for long ride daily, at least 25km ride from my home to work. I wonder if this will give me pain in my back.

My height is 172cm, and weight is 65kg.

 

Another thing is the pillion. I found V1 pillion is more comfortable than V2. looks better to me also. Any feedback from R15 riders? Your gf feel comfortable with that?

 

My alternative choice would be Fz150i, but looks less less sexy, but I believe it's much more comfortable.

hi there if ur looking at a v2, for single riding so smooth and comfy. with pillion the pillion have to get use to the higher seat heights.

yup do agree that R15v2 looks sexier. i'm looking to sell mine for upgrade if ur interested.

Hi, anyone knows where to replace the leather on the R15 main rider seat? Mine is a 2nd hand bike so the leather is quite worn out and peeling at the side. I saw a couple of R15 riders have customized leather seats on theirs. Anyone here willing to share where they got it changed?

I believe you can go 219.. Generally words of mouth with good quality. The wait is somewhat a little long.

Hi, asking for a friend. His speedo meter has a problem. Apparently, in the past the speedo couldnt increase and stayed at 0. Recitifed the problem somehow, wy mech say it was due to electric cables. Changed the whole wiring system and it was okay. Now, the digital meter wont even move including the rpm gauge. Any idea on what's the problem? Dont feel like getting carrot again!

 

The sensor that is running through the bike to feedback the speedo meter is electrical... But a standalone one. Changing out the electrical wiring have nothing to do with the whole sensor to speedo meter thing. I'm sorry I didn't comment earlier but I'm afraid you have been carrot.

The cable at your front wheel is a dedicated wire that runs magnetic pulse from the round device beside your wheel hub to your speedo. Such as that R15 have major flaws.

1) Fuel pump

2) speedo sensor failure

3) wheel-bearing issues.

 

To rectify the speedo problem, you actually need to head down to Hong Leong @ Paya Lebar road and have them to change out the speedo sensor for you and not just some electrical re-wiring! NOTE! Electrical rewiring is for bikes that are well over 10 years old! (Bike that need electrical rewiring are the likes of.. RVF.. SP.. CBR400L.. etc) It is necesary because through time and constant usage, the wiring will wound out and discharge is not effective causing a electrical current leakage to your bike frame (not fatal of course) and cause potential damage to your rectifier.

The electrical cables you were talking about serve nothing to solve the issue but to better supply power to your speedo meter. Effect? errr... brighter speedo meter maybe?

Anyhow, some note on the shop that you will be dealing with.

Maybe you can look around the forum that talks about bike tiam rating and all. Generally as much as to my personal opinion, dont get from de xing. I dont understand how the whole loan thing works (if you're unsure, dont be involve in it) but it seems that once you like to complete your payment cycle (loan for 3 years and at the end of 3 years) they will charge you an additional couple of hundreds for some unknown reason. Simply just by quoting "aiya, its like that one la.. everywhere you go also like that."

 

PLEASE! EVERYWHERE is not like that. I can personally have like more than 10 shops that doesn't do that. But then, why business are still good there? I don't know. Maybe it's that business for newbie as like that bah.. see you fresh, ask you some bike related stuff.. you don't know.. "pay school fee".

2) someone who knows the bike market.

Went to scout around, friends recommended me to asphoon which quoted me the same price, lower interest (4% vs de xing's 5%) and better attitude from the sales person there (name: xing)

 

Read good reviews about asp also.

Probably good to go? Hehe.

 

Not sure if I should wait for the COE bidding results to be out or purchase it tomorrow.

Just collected my new r15, from s1 motoring.

Noticed that the bike headlight has only one LED lighted up in dip mode. Called the shop and they said this is normal to conserve battery.
