You know how before buying a car we get to test drive it, but still, if the car is rather expensive, it would be a lot better to have the opportunity to drive it for a week or a month before deciding to buy. In this case, one can turn to car rental companies for most cars - even luxury cars.

I'm wondering if people are interested in renting bikes before deciding to buy them, for whatever reason. Be it to relieve cash flow, or to test drive a bike, or just to have the ability to ride different bikes over time in a relatively cost effective way.

Here's a quick poll see what you folks think.

Would you think of renting a bike, and if so, what class, and for how long?

i would consider renting 2b, 2a and class 2 bikes for less than a week

so that i can have fun using the bike for sports and dont need to go through the hassle of repairing bike later

boring rider. with a boring bike.

too old to want to appear interesting anymore.

wow...there are actually responses! didn't check for awhile since this poll section is way down the forum content list :)

@swiftee: am thinking of setting up a small business relating to bikes (not repair though)

@blackmoomoo @deathcoffin: will surely tell everyone about it when i do have something up

@quincy: you are right man...the risk is higher than renting out cars...i think hd also rents out their bikes, no?

@loufu: it sure looks like most people are interested to rent for the purpose of trying out a bike...think that makes sense. but from a biz model perspective, it would be exhorbitant to sustain.

still...nothing more exciting than a challenge :)

Hey, does ban hock hin rent bikes out to single individual rider? or does it only rent bikes in bulk to client companies?

If it does rent to individual rider, any idea how the charges will be? say a 200cc and below bike.

ThankS!

I did a call to them to ask about this recently, yes they do rent out to single rider. You will need to be out of probation. You will need to pay a one time payment only admin fee of 50 and a deposit amount on top of the rent amount for the bike. You will be able to get back the deposit only after you have given them back the bike and if everything is back in the condition like when they first rented it out. Anything out of the norm, will be deducted from the deposit accordingly. Its just a rough idea, as i got it over the phone.

Check out the rates here : http://www.banhockhin.com.sg/leasing2/rentalRates.html

TO me, based on the rates, its more worth it to rent from them for a month rather than a few days. JUst me.
