i got a very tricky situation now..

 

i wanna renew my road tax online, so went to one motoring portal to renew. but my request was blocked, so i called up LTA and check out what happened..

 

so their reply was, TP blocked your renewal.

 

i remembered i got 2 summons for parking on pavement outstanding, but i wasn't in town to make payment and hence wrote in to ask for extension. extension came and gone..

 

kachang puteh issue..

 

so i called up TP and checked out what went wrong. gave them my name and IC, no results. malaysian IC, also nothing. licence plate number, BINGO! they say i got 2 outstanding summons, guessed as much. overdue, failure to appear in court.. now comes the best part.

 

I HAVE A WARRANT OF ARREST PENDING AGAINST MY NAME..

 

now i have to find a friend to go down to TP HQ to bail and schedule for court date.

 

now i have no idea what **** i got myself into..

 

any idea how much the fine will be now??

Wow dude. Anything with the govt body is not kacang puteh issue. 1 summon is understandable but 2 summons and u ignored it. U are in deep poo dude. A friend of mine had to appear in court for speeding case. It came up into the thousands. I guess your issue would be in the same area but the higher end. Good luck dude.

U are going to court man..the judge will then decide what is ur fine..be prepare to bring spare cash else Changi will be ur new home...

 

Warrant against you..means anytime they can come and arrest you... and bring you to court.

 

better handover urself to them... maybe still got leniency..

 

You need to get a bailor..else you passport is impounded and hold you till they got the nearest court date for you to attend..

Once the court date over already its very serious case bro..If never attend on the date srtill can pay on the court date but will cost more and you will have a criminal record..And of coz it will costs alot more..No joke..A small trivial matter if ignored will become a very big issue..Hope everythin turns out well for you..

agree that once someone need to attend court..you can forget the previous compound fine. its gonaa be higher and yes can reach up to thousands.

 

archer, just get yourself a bailor go to tp to get next court date. prepare alot of cash. and case close. no point you want ask tp drop case. your next help line..ask judge for leniency state your condition why you ignore the previous 2 summons.

Well, go read the back of a summon ticket, and you will see that they have the heavier fines written on it, first $8 then $8 + $15, after that it will be $8 + $100, then once go to court will be max $2,000 fine or jail 3 months.

 

Since a warrant of arrest is out, there is no way they will let it go, short of a special pardon from the president himself ... ...

What I advise you to do is to appeal for a lighter sentence, state that you were out of Singapore, during the incident and could not possibilty pay at that time, and once you knew of the offence you wrote back to try to resolve the issue, but no reply was given.

And you wrote twice, once for each ticket.

 

And if you have checked online with HDB, but came up with nothing on the fine, you can also put that into the agruement that you have also checked online to try to pay the fine through AXS but there was no record. And this was the first time you didn't pay any fine. You are a model citizen and have no previous records.

 

Then ask for NO JAIL sentence and leniecy. They will have a standard fine somewhere in the area of 1/2 the max fine. So bring lot's of money. Best is bring the max fine amount so that you won't have to call your family to bring money for the fine.

 

And if you want to be more KiaSu, in this case literally, since you don't want to lose money on the case. Go see your MP for a letter to vouch for you. You still won't be off the hook, but you can use it to add weight to your side of the arguement during the court session.

Whatever ****, it's deep! Maybe you would like to consult a (pro bono) lawyer and see what are your options?

 

But funny that you missed a court date, because there should be some documents served to you to inform you of the hearing date. No?

Just get ready a lot of cash n ask for leniency n also prepared black n white to explain all the reasons to Judge later....

if u wanna give excuse u are out of SG etc, make sure u hav the proper items items on hand :

 

1) passport to prove you are not in SG during the period and how long

 

saying forget is not gonna be good enuff, and if u got drilled in the process and cant answer properly, leniency is not gonna be on ur side.

 

I suggest u just admit ur wrong and ask for leniency.

 

I'm sure u are not away for the entire period from the fine > court > W.O.A.

But if u are, then u got something to fight for, else, prepare to donate SG gahment. Remember, u forgot is not acceptable excuse, unless u got IMH to show u got memory lapse or something like that, then it can be considered in ur favor.

go check with the traffic police on your options. i know you called to find out what went wrong but not sure if you asked about options. thats the best thing to do. and if court is the only option, then prepare based on what silent hunter mentioned. also try what chuan.z said and consult a pro-bono lawyer. there are a number around as i saw some posters passing by some community clubs saying they have such things.

hmmm...bro i encountered the same b4, i had 2 charges also just like u, but that time i tried to appeal saying that i made the wrong payment for my summons wrote a letter of appeal to the tp department den in the end managed to clear the case with a $200 fine to each case.....

 

reagrding to the warrant of arrest, u have to find a fren willing to be ur bailor till the case date, its better to surrender first cause this warrant of arrest means should u kena road blocks or stopped on road they can arrest u on the spot and it will not look nice.

If you don't intend to plead guilty, please bring a lawyer.

 

If you are pleading guilty, please bring alot of cash. The court only accept cash. Not sure the severity of your offences, my guess is $5000 should be enough but get someone standby with more cash.

 

Since there is already a warrant of arrest on you, you go straight to the lockup in the Court till someone raise enough money to pay the fine. Don't worry, you won't be alone there.

called up TP this afternoon and checked with them.

 

bail just need the bailer to sign documents.. should be settling the bail tomorrow or so. after that they will set a court date.

 

damn court date.

 

i wasn't in SG when the fine expiry came. i knew of the fine, so i wrote in the appeal for extension. extension came, and i forgot. court date notice was together with the summon. how to remember together? alamak!

 

now have to wait and see if TP willing to drop the charge anot..

Not to scare u or wad TS, I've been dere done dat.. I had 3 hdb parking offense, park on season parking lot without coupon n kena $25 for each ticket. I was young n ignorance so didnt make the paymnt but when my road tax ends.....

 

I cant renew n same case as urs. After I went to cantonment dere for bail I need to pay $300/summon which sums up to $900. Luckily around dat point of tym when they send ltr to my hse I was moving hse n they have records on it thus reduce to $150/ticket b4 goin to court.

 

But after u pay n appear in court u wont have any criminal offence or records as wad the officer in charge for my case in cantonment said

I have encountered jokers who have repeated ignored parking summons, the subsequent warrants and skipped court dates. In the end, they were slapped with 99-year driving/riding bans. No joke!

went in, do documentations.. sat in holding room while they try to trace my warrant.

 

search here and there, high and low.. cannot get any results until i told them search by licence plate..

 

got out of bail with a 2k bond.. court date set on 9th sept.. SIAN..

 

asked the encik whether can drop charge and appeal anot, he said can come down tomorrow to appeal at counter..

 

guess i gonna try my luck at appealing.. at least no need to pay so much..

 

compounded fine is 200 buck.. court case is 600bucks. FAINT!
