This frame is of the 07 1000 model. Looking at the cross section of the frame, it appears there's a Internal Reinforcing Rib.

Not sureif this will take care of the frame cracking issue, but some hope is there.

Posted

Can't remember where I found this press kit, here's some literature on the new frame.

Hollow steering head section? Not sure if it's a good thing.

I also read there was this couple on the way to a hotel for buffet on a R1000. On the way back, they had gained some extra kilos. The bike hit a puddle at some point, that's when the frame cracked. Suzuki denied warranty as their combined weight exceeds the maximum allowed weight limit. :cheeky:

Any owners care to share their experiences of the K5 / K6 to someone who is considering the K7 R1000?

Researching and considering only.

Underseat pipe is like a novelty, effect wearing off already.

Chilly seems to have his mind set on the R1300 already.

Before you have tried the corners at McDonald Hwy, better don't sell off your sportbike. It's a new kind of wonderful feeling.

Good news for those who don't like the new dual exhaust on the 07 R1000, the left exhaust is made in such a way it can be removed in a matter of minutes. See blown-up pic.

This means potential buyers considering aftermarket pipes need only buy one muffler.

Any owners care to share their experiences of the K5 / K6 to someone who is considering the K7 R1000?

me olso kinda thought of getting the latest k7 1000 suzuki model.

the 2 exhaust looks really appealing and furthermore it is located not beneath the seat. which is much favourable with pillion. well the machine price for k6 i heard past few days is 18k. drop a bit but not intereted in dat one. the latest one may cost at 19k to 20k. any info??

much of the specs of k7 doesnt differ much than the k6 model.

i check out the2007 model r1.that model is real awesome than the 2006 model.worth considering it too.

i heard that the k7 will be out in feb. and only 7 bikes out for that shipment only.if someone really consider buying it,got to make some reservation. this source is from imotoring bukit merah. anyone got other info on this.

Redders, the underseat exhaust is not a problem for pillions. I never heard complaints.

The 07 R1000 should be in the range of 23k to 24 k OTR.

The R1's pillion seat is slanted forward, making it very uncomfortable for the pillion. A friend of mine is thinking of changing to another bike because her pillion keeps complaining how unconfortable it is.

Posted

No, that wasn't what I meant. If you look closely at the R1, from 04 all the way to 07, the pillion seat is slanted at the same angle.

den how is the k series perform on pillions??

u mentioned k7 will be out next month?somewhere dec??

the r1 2007 is out soon at suntec motor show.

prety cool.

how much perhaps is the k7?

The pillion seats on he Suzukis look thick, and the angle doesn't slant forwards, I think they'll be fine.

That's what New Southern told me, around Dec, $23k to $24k. But the ales guy did say Dec is an estimate, cos the 2007 600s and 750s were supposed to come in Oct, but came only in Nov.

The black edition sure looks aggressive! Too bad I am giving up my G6K5 for a Viffer due to work requirements...

It is better to keep quiet and remain a fool than to open your mouth and remove all doubts...
