NEW YBR250 FROM YAMAHA

A stylish, economical and practical new commuter bike.

Yamaha has always been committed to offering our customers the widest possible choice of machines which are designed to exceed their expectations, and this policy is underlined by the introduction of the new YBR250.

Powered by a 250cc 4-stroke engine housed in a full-sized chassis, the YBR250 has been designed to cater for those riders who want a motorcycle that combines responsive performance with good looks and low running costs.

With its efficient engine and chassis design, the YBR250 succeeds in combining style with economy and practicality, making this one of the most attractive models in the growing commuter class.

YBR250 YamahaENGINE

Strong torque output for easy commuting

At the heart of this attractive new commuter bike is a responsive 250cc air-cooled 4-stroke single-cylinder engine. This compact powerplant has been developed with commuting in mind, and has been designed to deliver plenty of low to mid-speed torque for responsive performance in traffic jams and stop-go city riding.

Fuel injection system

The compact new engine on the YBR250 features a whole range of features normally associated with larger, more expensive models. In order to give good performance with reduced emissions, this 4-stroke single-cylinder engine is equipped with a new fuel injection system breathing through a large-capacity airbox. This highly-efficient system gives excellent throttle response, making the YBR250 an ideal machine for nipping in and out of traffic on congested city streets. And out on the highway the clean-running fuel injection delivers strong acceleration with good all-round performance and impressive economy.

Forged piston and plated cylinder

For reduced frictional losses and higher engine running efficiency the YBR250 benefits from a durable forged piston running in a low-friction plated cylinder – and a 50% crank balancer is designed to help eliminate engine vibrations for a more lux

New YBR250 from Yamaha

• Stylish, economical and practical new commuter bike

• 250cc air-cooled 4-stroke single-cylinder with oil cooler

• Strong torque output for easy commuting

• Fuel injection system and 2-way catalyser with oxygen sensor

• Comfortable and stable full-sized chassis

• High-quality suspension

• 17-inch cast alloy wheels with disc front brake, drum rear brake

• Large-capacity 19.2-litre fuel tank urious ride.

YBR250 Yamaha5-speed transmission

The bike’s compact 5-speed transmission is designed to handle the requirements of today’s commuter, and features carefully-chosen gear ratios that help to optimise this attractive new bike’s performance in and out of town.

2-way catalyser and oxygen sensor

In order to exceed current EU-3 emissions regulations, this 250c 4-stroke engine’s exhaust system is fitted with a 2-way catalyser and an oxygen sensor. The catalyser is complemented by an air induction system which is designed to help enhance the combustion processes of any unburnt exhaust gases.

Efficient oil cooler

As any commuter knows, engines can get very hot during stop-start city riding, and so to help the YBR250 run at a more consistent temperature we have fitted an oil cooler. This lightweight unit not only helps the bike to run more efficiently, it also increases rider comfort
