I would like to say to do a search of other threads but might as well just give you my opinion while im at it.

Of all the 2B 2-stroke sport bikes the most common ones are SP and KR(kawa)

There is RS125 too but i will advice against it unless you have deep pockets. TZM fairly rare too.

So based on kawa and SP, both imo are quite equal in speed. Just that SP insurance will cost you alot less. around 800? Kawa 1.3k for the newly passed 18yo.

So just stick to your choice, its already quite a good one.

thanks but i heard that rs125 isnt that good as the maintenance is quite high with all the spare parts. and i would like to know if the YZF R125 or R15 are they good?

SP's fc is around 20-23km/l it'll drop if you decide to mod it. Stick with your decision for SP, it has decent resale, 4 strokers bikes are also a wise choice but if you want some speed for 2b, they're not a way to go.

Are you sure you've done your research? Production of SPs stopped ~8 years ago.

SP are out of production since around 2001. But you can still get some really well-maintained SP now. Just keep your eyes open:thumb:

Yah, there's no more new sp's, in fact you'll be extremely lucky if you could even find a 2nd hand one, normally there are 3-5 ex owners minimum. Used SP's there's quite a few for sale. If you have friends who ride ask them to go down and view the bike with you after you obtained your license Don't pin your hopes too high before you pass your TP, you'll be bummed out if you fail. If you don't want an old bike and your pocket's deep enough you can consider the R15, it's not as expensive compared to R125/CBR125, etc and You can get for around 7k on the road (I'm estimating). I predict you wouldn't lose more than $700 on the bike's cost when you sell the bike 1 year later, less insurance and servicing fees.

im riding honda sp too

good bike

easy maintenance so far..

fc, 22km/L

depends on how u set the engine tuning, for pickup or distance..

pickup wud cause fc reduce to arnd 160-180 per tank.

actually...i think maintenance will be about the same for most bikes unless something spoils and needs repair...also...when you actually put some of these bikes side-by-side and compare...it becomes very obvious which ones look more sexy than the others. so before you actually spend money to buy...go take a look at some!

two strokes are easier to mantain and repair.

of the same cc, two strokes are generally more powerful and faster too.

yup true. maintenance is easy. But generally it still faces more wear and tear compared to 4 strokes so parts have to be replaced more often. overhauling a 2 stroke is still cheaper than a 4 stroke though but 4 stroke engines last much longer with similar care.

mines for distance btw, hence able to cover 220km

however i pump caltex plat..

does petrol really make a diff?? not sure abt tt.

2 strokes worry more abt 2t oni cos u dun wana get ure piston jam during ure ride.

And the biggest advantage is all 3 2 strokes maintaince+repair (tzm sp kr) can be done at jb for cheap(when i say cheap, really cheap!!).

R125 and R15, you bring there most likely they scratch head
