So any conclusion? Lucky its only helmet, next they will ask you to dismantle your fairings. Take out ur helmet inner lining...

well, even if they are appointed by govt agencies, still does not give them the right to shout at civilians.

they have no right to shout at you if you are not in the wrong. Better to lodge an official compliant to their superiors than to shout back and antagonize them. By shouting at each other, they have the upper hand of authority, but by remaining calm, you have the upper hand of personal rights. (erm, not sure if its applicable in our local human rights context though)

haha. but good that u show them whos boss, just dun get into too much trouble.

upon escort to the office, i had to park my bike. i had to put down my heavy bike before parking my bike properly. the aetos officer shouted at me to park my bike at the bike lot on the far end of the 'mini car park'.

if they shouted at me, i would do the same thing.. who the hell are they to shout at ppl..

While coming back from the Johor Circuit track, there I was arriving at the green area. While queuing up for my turn as there was a fairly long wait, this middle-aged officer upon seeing me still having my helmet on shouted at the top of his lungs

"OI! Keluar helmet lah!"

I didn't speak a word nor confront the officer, but I thought it was a little too rash for that kind of army-style attitude. Not to mention, it wasn't my turn to be checked yet, as compared to when a criminal gets interrogated.

P.S.: There's a sign at Woodlands upon arriving at the Green declaration area that states to remove your helmet for customs check. But it's not prominent enough in my opinion and is placed at the side, so there's a pretty good chance that first timers may miss it.

P.P.S: Anyone been thru Los Angeles Int'l Airport? Ever since 9/11, a lot of people around the world including diplomats have commented that the immigrations officers are like bulldogs, treating incoming people as such.

Here's my take.

You're supposed to take it off. Yes.

But they're supposed to exercise courtesy to commuters, and maintain a professional attitude.

In this case, you can always take off your helmet and approach the fella who shouted to you. Get his rank, name, and ask for his service number or whatever. And then tell him you don't like him shouting at you and that you're gonna file a complaint to ICA via email or otherwise.

Note time, date of incident, person's rank/name. Get checked by customs. Go home. Log on to Internet. Go ICA website and send feedback or do it via email.

After that, relax and carry on with life.

Not too sure how you have worded your comment or whether this was directed at someone, but I've decided to say more about my plight.

The line was moving slowly, albeit me still a couple of metres from the officer.

Being fully suited and all but still pushing my bike with many bikes behind me, sure I could simply release my two hands' grip on the handlebars and let my bike fall to the ground while I tried to take off my helmet.

I'm sure you would feel the same way too if you were in my shoes.

P.S.: It's hear, not here. Nowadays, conciseness matters.

Thanks for your advice dude.

However, despite my pressing intention to lodge a complaint, I had let it pass because at that time, it was just too inconvenient.

This incident was totally uncalled for...

Oh yes, in order to get a timely and suitable response from the organization, always include newspaper (TNP, ST) email addresses in your CC list.

It seems to act like a kick in the ass somehow.

It's not a matter of "we the taxpayer, they the civil serpent".

It's just a matter of doing your job properly.

Just 'cos you're in uniform doesn't mean that you can order a civilian about.

Last I remembered, this ain't a military junta. ;)
