Can we turn on a red arrow?

Hi all,

Would like to clarify regarding turning right on a red arrow sign. Some traffic junctions have this funny sign. Normally it is the green arrow to signal that it is safe to turn.

 

Anyone can enlighten me?

if u r turning right at a junction where there are special right turn traffic lights

then u must follow them

if there is red rite arrow, u are not allow to turn rite even thou it is safe to turn..

u are onli able to turn rite when it is green arrow.

if there is no red rite arrow at all, u are allow to turn if it is safe is do so.

Red arrow = No go. Red traffic light = No go also

Red Arrow means can't even cross the stop line to move into the 'waiting' box if there is one.

did u laugh when u saw the funny sign? or did u turn?

 

if u laugh and waited there then its not against the law, but if u turn its the same as beating the red light.

LOL!! ok that was a funny one lolx. Well red means cannot move ma. Basic theory front few page gif u answer alreadi. there are quite a few nowadays... Gotta be careful of this.

RED Arrow = No Turn!

 

But if you are rushing for time, can't see any TP or any camera around; can try lah but it's @ ur own risk. So it's better to follow traffic rulez

If the traffic light for going straight is green but the arrow for turning right is red and there is a red cam, will it snap when u beat the red arrow??

No go was wat I initially thought..... But I was at Mandai waiting for the red arrow to turn green when the cement truck behind me kept honking at me and kept coming closer and closer....

i think the new red arrow is mention in the theory book not long ago..

when i took the theory, the book nv state it but i had saw it on road..

for those who take their theory a few years ago will not read up on this..

i guess the replies are as stated above.

 

wat i usu do, is move to the side, and let him pass first if he is in a hurry to flout the rules.(coz usu these drivers are paid by the no of trips they make.)

 

aniway, u yellow-skin incredible hulk ,he oso dare to horn u?

I am "dua jia" on a 2 wheeler,

 

while he could be a puny guy.... but in a monster truck.

The next day after I got my bike, I was at this traffic light with a red arrow. Somehow, I have forgotten what it meant and turned when the road was clear. The car behind me actually honked to alert me, but too late, I had moved off too much.

 

I was thinking 12 points gone on my first day.. wah, no need to ride for a year!

note that in malaysia the rules are abit different..junction with green arrows..u can only turn when the arrow is lit... ie no arrow is as good as having a red turn arrow

PIE exit corporation road first right turn has a camera special to catch people turning right on red. I was in a taxi doing this stunt when the bloody thing flashed twice.

My experience is limited, but I only see this at busy junctions. When the traffic light is green, you usually won't be able to turn right anyway.

 

But yah, it's easy to forget.

yah lah...somemore like in cross junction..they release side by side...then can be stuck @ the junction for 5 minutes...

i got a question.. about those traffic lights tat has the sign beside it stating left turn on red means tat i can turn left when its red but wat i heard from my fren is tat by right u muz stop check ur right for oncoming vehicles den make the left and if its green den juz go no need stop to check... true?

this scheme is usually for low traffic roads, you're supposed to stop n check 1st then go.. but usually i do it like filter lane, slow down when approaching..clear then go.. Of course still must check lah, right of way is still major road traffic

There's one set of such traffic lights behind my block. There was once I came home late and there were no vehicles at all, but red arrow so I guai guai wait. The main lights turned red, green, then red again... 2 cycles over and the green arrow didn't even come up!

 

Just when I decided to give up and go straight on the next green, finally a taxi came by, wanting to make the turn too. THEN the green arrow came on. Seems like the censor could not detect my poor RXK... think I invisible...

u see those black lines on e rd? stop on em n make urself visible 2 traffic lights.
