Hi people,

Let's say, I'm buying a particular bike from this particular dealer (example: excel cycles, republic xxxx sry can't rmb the full name)

What are some of the procedures taken? For the paperwork and stuff..

And for insurance, it is under them too? As in they will offer you the packages or there will be a third party seller from the insurance firm?

When buying second hand bike, will we use the prev owners number plate or do we get one on our own?(feel really dumb asking this.. I have no experience sry)

Will the dealer certify the particular bike is safe? As in motor wise, condition and so on?

And are we able to drive the bike away? Or will it be delivered?

I really hope all these can be answered thanks :DDD cheers!

paperwork is settled by company. just take note of any clause that might not be beneficial to you such as early settlement fees amount, late installment interest charges, etc. insurance usually purchase through company.

unless the previous owner choose to retain the number plate, otherwise its yours. check with shop.

there's no certification to certify. based on their words. most they can start engine but you can't ride cos you have no insurance cover for that bike.

ride away after paperwork is settled. some is fast some is slow. if u wan to be delivered also can, just have to pay for towing fees.

i hope all these has answered you doubts...

Oh haha yeah that was helpful thanks : )

Oh another thing how do we actually know if that particular bike is safe? As in motor wise and so on..

maybe u can record a video of them guaranteeing you such thing.

so u can use as evidence if things are otherwise?

I would say buy the bike at a risk, they wouldn't go into very very specific details of the bike condition.

Like one of the forumer mention, bring someone along... so that you'll not in a rush to buy the bike.

bike is a machine without soul, rider would inject new life and character to this machine
