Bro

I'm taking the same route as you but i'll set off on the 8th of Dec. We will most likely to skip Boten, the Chinese border. Instead we will be heading into Saigon, Vietnam for a few nights. If you're interested, you can join us for entry into Vietnam from Kampuchea. Entry fees is at a standard price, so the more bikes coming in, the prices will come down. Let me know if you're interested.

Hi mate

We're pulling out of Singapore in the afternoon of 18th Dec and heading to Tapah for the night. The next morning we're doing the Cameron Highlands loop and the through Ipoh and across to Penang, where we plan to stay for the night. From there it's up to the Malay/ Thai Border at Kampung Wang Kelian and into the National Park and Thailand.

If this is part of your journey let me know and perhaps we can hook up along the way somewhere. Also, after living in Laos for a bit I can recommend some places to see if you want??

Too young to know any better, too old to care.

Hi Friend,

I'm not sure now, whether can link together, as for NSHW i prefer night or early morning riding, as it is abit hot in the afternoon....

if set off on the 18 afternoon, i will reach hatyai at funny hour like eg. 3am... or if go abit faster will be just nice the border is closing... but i will KIV of this... as maybe can set off from tapah early in the morning of 19th maybe one of the option which is about 3 hour away to border...

anyway it will be nice of you to share some info with me... i am still gathering info of the northern area now...

Isn't there a restriction on bike cc into vietnam? Is is possible for class 2 bikes to enter Viet? What is the cost for Sin bikes to enter?

One of my friends did a check a few months ago. There are agents in Viet that can sort out the paper work for big bike to enter + lodging. But the price tag was US$100 per day of stay in Viet. I find it rather pricy.

Yes, I'm using overland operator in Vietnam to process my entry. As for the pricing, I was quoted slightly cheaper but not far off than what you've stated. As for bike entry fees, the prices are standard, non negotiable.

For experiencing riding in Vietnam, I'd give it a try. :)
