Nobody can predict the resale market, those shops who r telling you to buy S4 is becos they dun have it... Honda has a hold on the 400 cc market for a long time liao maybe for the next few years it will be Suzuki's turn.

The 2 shops that told me this was Mah and Excel Cycle and they do carry the GSR. Also i met a guy who is selling his GSXR400 and told me that suzuki 400cc no value as he has hard time selling his bike.

Mah was a strange case as one of the salesguy was trying very hard to promote the GSR while another guy was telling me that its safer to get the Super 4 as i may upgrade to class 2 next year and may lose a lot of money.

well their ppl( Mah Pte ltd) will see yr posting and gdluck to the sales staff. Honestly, if you are going for class 2 next year why bother buying a 400. Loon for a year and you will save even more $$$ .

anyway, i miss wildcard.

haiz..read so many feedback and seem like buy super four vec-III is more worth..honestly i love GSR400 very very much...:lovestruck: and thinking to get it..but i am afraid that the price will drop a lot after 3 or 4 years if i want to re-sell it. At least super four have their own value...so i don't have to worry so much about the re-sell prices...and i think we should wait for few months then decide which bike shall we get (GSR and V-III) bcoz the price will keep on drop. And since GSR400 and GSR600 is different only less than 2k..than better get GSR600...more power and more worth..:cheer:

yeah bro swoosh, i know what u mean....trust me that i have agonised over this for a long time....the thing is, i'm not sure if i will be going for class 2 or not...and i need to try a 2A bike first to know if a 2A bike is "good enough" in which case i will just stay at class 2A....by "loon-ing" with my 2B bike, how will i know whether 2A is good enough?

and so i was just tinking what better way to know whether class 2A is "good enough" than to try out the GSR 400 which is like a 600cc bike with the 180 section rear wheel and undertail exhausts....it is identical in size and looks to the GSR600...

Of course my main preference is to get a good 2nd hand 2A bike (preferably NOT super 4 cos too common) to ride for the next year until i'm elig to take class 2.....

so the qn is do we follow our heart and buy the GSR or follow our head (and wallet) and get a S4.....the thing with S4 is that sometimes with so much of it around (high supply) it may be hard to get a good resale price too whereas for the GSR, if there is very little of it, it may command a better price....

as for whether to get the GSR600 or 400, it should be a simple decision; if u have a Class 2 then get the 600, if u do not have class 2 and don't intend to get one then u still have the 400 option. it's not even a money issue cos for the $2k more, the GSR600 is about 40hp (75%) more powerful than the 400 but with the same weight....

Class 2A will be not be good enough. Go for class 2. Believe me after u obtain class 2 you will not go for a middle weight cc u probably go for at least 750cc and above. I have been through the cycle liao heheh...

too bad u r not considering a 2nd hand Vtec becos S4 is CURRENTLY a bike with a straight line depreciation. ie machine price/10. U may have to reconsider becos there are no other choices. Anyway, i collected my ride today and I am now trying to adapt to wider turning radius of GSR4. :giddy:

Therefore weather when travelling, it depends on conditions such as road and, vehicle and service differs. * As for this specification for improving there are times when it modifies without notice. * As for body color for monitor display, the real thing there are times when it differs. * While travelling if hindrance of driving e.g., loading ones move, in order not to be, please lock securely. * As for the helmet and the small articles in the photograph it is something which is prepared separately in one for photographing.

Hi All,

Made the following simple calculations to determine the HP. This is what I gotten.

HP Calculator

Online Unit Conversion

I am using the simple calculation of HP = Torque * RMP / 5252

From the given = 37N m [3.8kg m] /9,000rpm

Convert the 37N m = 27.3 foot pounds

Seems that the HP for the GSR400 is about 46.8. Seems lower than S4. Am I doing the Calculations correctly?

just went over 7000rpm, you dun get the sudden increase of speed like s4...

good if you want power that you can control...

Got questions.

1. At 6th Gear, Running at 5000RPM, what is the KM/H ?

2. At 6th Gear, Running at 6000RPM, what is the KM/H ?

3. At 6th Gear, Running at 7000RPM, what is the KM/H ?

Anyway the reason for no increased power at 7000RPM is because GSR no VTEC which the valve will open for more power. Correct?

I am getting about 90KM/H @ 6000RPM, VTEC not open yet. My guess is GSR should be at 100KM/H right? Can confirm this?

for S4, at 7000rpm, i got 110km/h.

gsr4, at 7000rpm, i got 117km/h.

as for VTEC, every makers of bike or cars call their technology differently...

basically, its just an extra set of exhaust valves opening to allow more exhaust gases to go out and more fresh air to come in...

as for why there is no sudden increase in power like S4, my guess is because gsr4 is EFI, where the fuel is controled by your throttle position and not the amount of air to bring in the fuel...

hope i dun bored you with all this... hee...

Hehehe not a prob. Interesting to know that there is an improvement in speed. Ya true. Could be the EFI controlling how much feul to put in depending on the throttle position. With EFI got advantage to use Power Commander (My dream device...Heheheh). Then can put in more "Super Duper devices". I will definately consider GSR for my next bike  Thanks for the input bro.
