Hi Guys....

It's been a long time since I last post my comments, I can see quite some new people here.... Hi everyone (again)....

about the timing chain, valve and tappet issue.... my bike now already running into 60,000km in 1 year 3 month. so far, so good. I got no problems with the timing chain, valve and tappet. I used to bring my bike for "TOP OVERHAUL" after every 4 month due to my heavy and "All-Time-Full-Throttle" usage.... you need to take care of the bike... at least know how it works and what it takes to make it works smooth.

---->> NOW!! after 5 month using the Iridium spark plugs, It shows it's age and need to be replaced.... I started to hear popping sound from th engine. meaning that, the spark plug is not at optimum performance. need to change.

---->> fortunately, my chain & sprocket set still last till now after so many month. I recommend to you guys the RK-M Takasago Chain 428 and alloy steel sprockets. they last longer with all the torture I put on them... hahaahaa...

Hi RXZ delux,

i sent this email to conoco for explanation

Subject: Conoco Hydroclear® Super Sport SHP 4T Engine Oil

Hi,

I started using Conoco Hydroclear® Super Sport SHP 4T Engine Oil today.

After 100km , it seems the burn smell comes from clutch plate.

My bike is

-Yamaha 110cc

- 4 stroke

- mileage = 30,000km

- From day one I only use Shell semi synthetic 4T 15w-50 .

But today I wanted to change so I tried using Conoco Hydroclear® Super Sport SHP 4T Engine Oil.

The shell was good with gear box and wet clutch plates.

How good is Conoco Hydroclear® Super Sport SHP 4T Engine Oil ?

I used 10w -40 , after 100km it seems burn smell comes from clutch plate.

My question: Is Conoco Hydroclear® Super Sport SHP 4T Engine Oil good for gear box and wet clutch plates.

Thanks.

-------------

Hi Sir,

Conoco Hydroclear® Super Sport SHP 4T Meets JASO MA, which included the testing of gear box and wet clutch in 4T bike,

so in short Conoco Hydroclear® Super Sport SHP 4T is good for gear box and wet clutch system in 4T bike. I am just curious to find out how do pin point the smell is coming out from the wet clutch system?

Do you travel frequent to JB? may be we can try to meet up to discuss further. ETA end of july

T904-98 Motorcycles - Four-stroke cycle gasoline engine oils - Friction properties test for the clutch systems

The Japanese Automotive Standards Organization is an orginization that sets automotive standards.

They also set standards for grades of oil. The highest grade of oil for two-stroke engines is JASO FC, for four-stroke engines (motorcycles) JASO MA

Thanks

So far I have used these three engine oil without any problems.

http://www.aplubes.conocophillips.com/defa...=article&ID=319

For the abv 2 i use 20W50

http://www.aplubes.conocophillips.com/defa...=article&ID=318

For this one it is SAE40

I personally have tried and tested it ALL in my motorbike engine and have no problem relating to the oil.

I simply don understand also why your bike have such a problem. Is your bike first hand or second hand?

Mine is a first hand.

Hmmm. Dat's good. So what did conoco engineers say?

I think it's best for u to use the 20W50 rather than the 10W40. I myself prefer the 20W50. Be it Conoco Super Sport or the Conoco Hydroclear.

Typically air cooled engines use 20W50. Like SparkZ or Wave which is air cooled.

I am curious on what did the engineers say?.......
