just a simple question, can 09 r1 fit 2013 headlight with the led strip connecting down from the pole light? can convert?

Im quite new with bike also but im with a VERY active R1 group, frequent meetups and all. 08 is just as good. no matter what year its make, the engine is still same. just the cool functions and all but hell if u're a good rider u dont need no functions riding a 05 and im loving it. If u wan leave ur contact so can refer u to some 12/13 model users to hear their view

1. r1'08 is famous with stall issue while r1'12 haven't heard any, only loud noise of cam tensioner. overall, nothing really wrong with both. just if u buy 08, it's older hence more maintenance required.

 

2. TCS is electronic setting, so no major maintenance required. whether it's worth d money or not, it depends u. for me, it's good to have but not compulsory.

 

3. no, the heat is mainly from the front engine.

 

4. change y-pipe will help a little but not much. plus it's illegal. i dun think there's any better solutions.

The R1' 08 still looks the best till date but I'm also in love with the sound of the cross plane engine.

 

I guess I'll save up a little more for the '12 model, I've seen how TCS worked and saved a few lowsides on the track~ :]

agreed, r1 08 looks fiercer to me compared to r1 12. sound wise, i would say both also nice. if u like v twin sound, crossplane is the one.

 

ya, TCS is good to have, but if u ask me to choose between TCS and ABS, I'll choose ABS. Too bad R1 doesn't hav ABS.

Really? I always had the impression that ABS disables the wheels from locking and thus less effective braking.

Haha, not really, ABS has better braking compared to non ABS. u can try google n see the comparison in youtube.

 

Anyway, normal riders like me will appreciate ABS.

not sure, but as what i know, there's some small changes between 2009 and 2012 headlight shape, something like slightly sharper for model 2012.

Hi...my 06 seems to have difficulty shifting gears.....the pedal side... heard from some due to insufficient chain lube.....dirty eo.....engine cold.....oddly its sumtimes.......for cars we'll change transmission fluid....nt sure bout this tho.....anyone can help?

the black tube which i have circled in red connected to the coolant reservoir is spurting out a small pool of coolant after my ride.

any techs can advise?

u meant air leak? if air leak may need to replace the cylinder head. 07 model is famous with the stalling issue. not same.

bro, did u replace the coolant recently? maybe it's overfill.

My bike cant start n i suspect my rectifier or coil hving problem. Any 1 knows the charges to change them or any shops with gd deals? Im riding R1 08
