the 2ct is good enough for the streets and occasionally track.. although better tyres are recommended for the tracks...

bt 090 compare with 021.

Lasting, grip?

Use BT 090 before, find it quite lasting n grip well. So wanna compare it with BT 021.

Try diablo corsa b4 very good n sticky on the road. even on wet road aso the grip quite good. Heard fr mechanic tat the diablo corsa 3 is a 3 compound tyre. The tyre tread is quite same as diablo corsa.

Hi all,

Any review on dunlop sportmax? heard this is one of the good tyres and that's why most of the japanese sports bikes comes OEM with it.

Some review even says that Batlax do not perform up to the Dunlop sportmax standard.

Off course this sportmax is not recommded for tracks as this is not a soft compound type. Occasional track think should be OK.

Reviews/feedback on Dunlop sportmax is highly appreciated.

Tks.

Fruitcake care to tell us how it happened?

Anyway from the threading I think it looks obvious enough...

new dunlop tyre sportmax is alpha 10...but do not compare the OEM tires as they are different from the ones selling in the market. The one selling in the market has a different tire tread and compound from the OEM. Market dunlop tire is quite good for track in fact and actually is soft compound for some tire size...but surprisingly the wear rate is quite durable.

Hi,

Tks for the input guys.

Does this means that the OEM tyre is better than those sold in the shops (since OEM differs with those available in the market)?

The sportmax which i am talking is the D218 model. Not sure whether this is still in production as the last time i used it (it was an OEM) was in 2004.

It worn out fast at the centre if i ride along the highway/expressway. Only can last about 8,000KM only. (as i used to travel along the highway including those at Malaysia's North South Highway).

If I ride above 150km/hr, I really can see the worn out at the end of the trip. (they tire just get flat at the centre). Not so good for travelling along the highway I guess.

Review says that the d218 grips better than batlax 020. But batlax 020 will get you better milage (wear out at the centre not as fast as the d218). Not so sure as I never use the batlax 020 yet. By the way, how about the grip on batlax020 compared with the dunlops?

Yeap... Those tyres came with my bike, not too bad, but I think they wear out fast. 2 track sessions are they are like 3/4 gone, the grip is decent though.

218 definitely grips better than 020. 020 is a touring tyre meant for high mileage. If you are looking for better grip maybe can consider 2CT, Qualifier or M3.
