btw,where to get relays???

got one guy selling relays at garage sales.u can try find it or go bike shop lor.

the shop next 2 ah boy got sell.

It does not matter on the absolute weight. It depends on how long you

hold it.

If we carry our burdens all the time, sooner or later, we will not be able to carry on as the burden becoming increasingly heavier.

A relay enables the use of a small amount of power to electromagnetically move an armature that is able to switch a much larger amount of power.

For example. Your horn requires 12A to work. But your stock wiring and switch in your bike is guaged to lets say 5A (as stock horn draws little current). Prolonged usage without relay will cause the stock wiring and switch to overheat and finally fail (Passing 12A through wiring and switch suited for 5A only). By incorporating a relay, ur stock wiring/switch is now tasked to pass very little current just to magnetise the relay. The 12A will instead flow through the relayed circuit (You will hav to tap power by running another wire (suitable guage for 12A) from the battery to your horn via the relay). In this way, the original wiring/switch is protected from high current.

but i dun quite understand the wires going to pin 85 and 86...i does not understand the meaning original and horn cable?? i only know that there are two original wires connecting to the stock horn...one is positive and another is ground... care to help me solve my doubt? pls thanks...

"original + horn cable" means the original positive cable connected to your horn.

"original - horn cable" means the original negative(ground) cable connected to your horn.

Anyway, pins 85 and 86 of the relay has no polarity. So it will still work even if you reverse the polarity.

since u sound well verse in electrical circuit...maybe u can help me

i've been thinking of switching my signal and brake lights to LEDs thru DIY...but i only know how to link wires only but interm of voltage, amp and all that jazz i'm helpless

my plan is to fillup the stock signal and brakes light with 3 or more LEDs which run on 12v each...so i'm afraid that i'll be draining my batt...

Try to find the diagram by 750, I used that to aid my installation. SImple but took

mi lots of time cos first time. And wires routing and palcing of harn very troblesome, if u dont have time go a shop, shouldnt pay more than $15 to do it.

NO, but I tried before. Ok but u cannot press and hold it there u will burn ur fuse, tested and proven.

If just touch and go is ok but I wouldnt recommand that.

I can press and hold the horn as long as I want without burning the fuse, what ampere of fuse did you use?? Instruction stated on the box to use 20A fuse.

Nope you will need to wire up to a relay, without a relay you will risk blowing up fuse or worst melting the wires on your horn switches.

The only stock or original wires you are going to use, is plug out from your original horns and plug straight on to the relay pin 85 and 86.

BTW I am using 10A fuse, so far so good cos I couldnt find in my nerigbourhood hardwear store. 10A is the biggest they have..

Why don't you just follow the instruction on the box of the stebel horn? I believe Stebel horn enginner have gone through numerous testing to come out with spec of 20A fuse, they can't be wrong rite???
