9 January - Trail recce ride

Happy new year!

 

This is the first planned ride in Singapore from me. I have been exploring a number of trails over the past few months and would like to look for more. So this trip will be to find some new trails. As this is a recce ride, expect the unexpected. So it is best you ride a bike with some off road capability, or be prepared to wait when the terrain gets too unsuitable till the rest returns.

 

Date: 9 January 2009 (Saturday)

Time: 7:30am

Meet: Esso@553 Upper Thomson Road

 

1. scubasimon

2. eliztang (via sms)

3. dancingbiker

 

As this is a recce ride into areas that are unfamiliar to me, I will only be taking two others along.

try the race track for bikes near tuas road. there is a very good off-road trail beside it

 

and along lim chu kang road, there is quite a nice trail leading to a scouts camp

Yup Sat it is. See you there on sat @ 7:30am come rain or shine, I will be there @ 553 Upper Thomson Esso come rain or shine. I will be riding a white suzuki DR200 scrambler.

Any idea what time the ride will finish by? A rough estimate will do. Its just so that I can try to fit in other programmes after the bike ride.

Hmmm no Esso there on the map but there is a Exxon/Mobil station. Is that it?

Thanks Simon and Eliztang for a wonderful offroad ride. I had a tonne of FUN! Can't remember the last time I had this much fun on an off road bike. Those trails rock. We must do it again one day! Eliz is one spunky girl. Way to go girl! Thanks for the wonderful memories.

haha...nah...the malaysia recce ride will be end of jan probably....

Hey simon, got myself some protective gear and a ff helmet! I feel less afraid on the roads and as such more confident. Also got myself new tyres for my bike. Looking forward to your next ride!
