Most ST1100 part can be replaceable......., just the engine is not......

so finding a ST with a good engine and well mainten internal system is the best choice....

Julian.T will understand this very well. u can ask him.....!

first the engine, second the external....!

of course, good engine and  good external will be the best, there is cases where people got mislead by its nice nice external but the previous ower don take care of its internal.....long term problem will come.....!

Hi,

since shadowman mention my name - Let me give my few cents of comments...

I got my ST11 at 7k. (coz mostly ppl will ask abt price first)

Rd tax, insurance, transfer all this are another thing already...

It's a 1993 renew COE bike.

I'm the 2nd owner - that's mainly the reason why i will be so confident to buy the bike coz if the 1st owner never take care of the bike, he won't ride it for so many years..reason owner letting go? Going oversea.

Got my bike from GoPa acting as a middleman (include a new paint-job - Pearl-white) Of coz, i'm not promoting Gopa or say it's a must to go to his bikeshop.. Coz everyone have their own preferences which they feel comfortable with - one's man meat might be another one posion if u get what i mean...

Up to now - 2mths ++ of riding ST11) i had changed two valves, flush coolant, oil seals, gasket, engine oil, spark plug, left rear signal light bulb and etc etc.. Some are maintence stuffs, some are wear & tear... Coz end of the day it's more than 10yrs++ old bike. Of coz getting a brand new bike won't give much problems but as the guys had mention before - Honda stopped it's ST11 production...

thanks

but the H4 need to mod a bit rite?

for P.E. model u need to flatern the 'nostril look-a-like' below the tube for it to seat nicely to headlight housing, it's easily done by using a long nose plier.

for US model u have to repeat process for P.E. + also breaking the 2 side pegs.

Regarding coolant issues, wotz the difference whether we top up the front radiator or not??

'Cos we have a rear coolant reserve... if the front radiator not enuf coolant, it will draw coolant from the reserve right??? so we only need to top up the coolant reserve right??? so no issues if we never top up the radiator constantly right?

Pls correct me if i'm wrong...

yes, u r almost correct.

during high temperature operation, the pressure will force coolant to seeps out, it will be directed to the reservoir. so when it's contracting, it will draw back coolant to the radiator, it's a so call 'self-re-filling'. BUT it's owners' responsibilty to check if there's any leak of pressure causing coolant lost.

coolant lost r cause by several reasons;

- chorked cooling system.

- ageing hoses(lost of pressure due to cracks or etc.... ).

- corroded joints.

- faulty hose clips.

- faulty coolant pump or radiator.

- faulty thermostat.

a healthy cooling system wont result by loosing coolant level in the reservoir container, routine check is adviceable.

How do we know that the suspension limit is to the max already? Cos I just tightened it abt 3 weeks ago and now I seems to be having horse rides on the road liao..

Usually wat's the life span of the rear suspension? Has anyone here change their suspension before?

Think there is five level you can adjustt.U need to remove the pannier that is on the coolant side.then you use the wrench and turn.Turning the suspension to the right outermost will be the highest level.

# Position 1 is for a light load and smooth road conditions.

# Position 2 is the standard position.

# Positions 3 to 5 increase spring preload for a stiffer rear suspension, and can be used when the motorcycle is more heavily loaded

the small screw knob on top of the suspension is the rebound damping adjustment. :bounce:
