My DIY chain oiler [With alot of pics!!!]

Hi, after reading so many threads regarding chain oilers, I have decided to post a step by step guide of my own chain oiler using everyday materials. Hope everyone can benefit from the knowledge here.

Tools/materials required:

- 1x 2m fish tank air tube (hard) [1m for $0.50]

- 1x 2m, 1.5mm electrical cable [Free]

- 1 x masking tape [used]

- 2 x air valve [$1.20/ea]

- 2 x nut (for air valve) [free]

- 1 x Tube jointer [$0.10]

- 1 x 80ml Aluminium bottle [$2.00 from Daiso]

- 1 x High Temp. Silicone Liquid gasket [used, else $4.00 from shop]

- Tools; Drill, Drill Bit, T wrench, Cutters, Cable stripper, Vernier Calipers.

Step #1: Measure valve diameter (5.5mm measured).

Step #2: Find suitable drill bit diameter (0.5mm smaller than valve, to ensure tight fit when screwing the valve in, drill bit chosen is 5mm)

Step #3: Apply masking tape onto cap and base of bottle.

Step #4: mark points to drill onto cap and base of bottle.

Step #6: Screw in valve into bottle cap.

Step #8: apply high temp silicone liquid gasket onto valve (number 2) thread.

Step #9: Screw in valve (number 2) into base of the bottle; ensure that when screwing the valve in a straight manner.

Step #18: Leave a small gap at the beginning of the tube (to be fixed onto the base of the bottle).

been using my diy oiler for months.. still look healthy.

i dun think mass production will work

because

many rider dun bother to oil the chain.
