Hello everyone!

Saturday is coming soon...and Marley will be ready for me to have fun. So I am going to ride on the western part of Singapore and explore the area. Please note that there will probably be some parts of the ride where normal roads run out. So be prepared and come with a dirt-capable bike...or be prepared to wait it out for those parts.

Date: 6 February 2010 (Saturday)

Time: 7am

Meet: Esso@1 Jervois Road

Please be on time! We will be having breakfast so come hungry!

See ya!

@xbai87: why too short to ride trail bike? tw200 is VERY short :)

Not sure if I'm sadder to have missed out on this trip, or because I'm too short to ride (and hence don't own) a trail bike.

If I can ride a TW, you can also. If you ever looked at me, you'll understand why I said so. Right bo, Simon.

Anyone can ride a bike. Being a biker, is a state of mind.

@shunoski: you are absolutely right!

Ok here are the pics that I took from the trip. Enjoy!

Ok these are the breakfast that we had at Tiong Bahru market. Scubasimon had Lor Mee which I should have ordered instead of my Fish sliced with noodles plate. Sorry mine is half eaten before I remembered to take a picture of it.

After that, we went to another part of Mt. Faber and found this house with the nice white gates, kinda like the pearly gates of heaven, so I couldn't resist taking a shot of it with my bike next to it.

http://i407.photobucket.com/albums/pp158/codecc1/DSC01406.jpg

This is the view from the back of the house. Not as well kept as the front. The back is a picture of decay and rot. Such a contrast with the front. Simon says the older view is more interesting than the new. Hmmm interesting point of view.

Next, we headed for Pandan reservoir. Water and Blue Sky. Nice place for a jog cos it has a jogging track circling the reservoir.

Next stop, OFF ROAD liao lo. Waiting to hit the trails all morning, hehe. Finally, we arrived at at what I think is Chua Chu Kang near Tengah Airbase. The trail was impossible to access at the initial points that we tried, but we persisted and was finally rewarded;

The trail got a bit thick in certain places. Those bushes are more than 2m tall. Would you go in there???

Our bikes

We went further in;

Look what I found on the road? Its a tortoise!!! Right there in the water on the road.

Next Stop, we went to somewhere around Kranji I think. We found a place next to the seaside;

The slope and really thick off road trail was described in Simon's blog together with some really nice pics that he took. The undergrowth was really thick but what was worse was the tonnes of logs and big tree roots all over the place under the thick undergrowth that made navigation almost impossible. So I went into that thicket and fought my way around for 20 mins.

THIS IS WHAT WE CALL OFF ROAD !!!

It was almost impossible to move around, but I had a tonne of fun trying it. Big smile after that. Felt like superman after winning that fight with the logs, roots and bushes, hehehe. I should change my nick to CrazyBiker instead of DancingBiker cos I fit the bill, hehe. I needed a drink bad after that cos I was perspiring like crazy after that fight, so we went off to our next destination.

Wow, we chanced upon this house by the sea thats quite a far distance away from the main road. It was so beautiful I had to take pictures of it. So peaceful and serene. A wonderful place to retire to in my opinion.

Our final destination before we called it a day. It was very close to the causeway (first link) cos I could see Johor Bahru across the waters.

Thats it Folks. Hope you enjoyed the pics as much as we enjoyed the ride. The best pictures are those that I see while riding on the way but I couldnt stop to take pictures of those, so you could only see the pics of the places where we stopped to take pictures of. Next time I will get a video cam and attach it to my bike so that I can take videos while riding. Getting a gps unit next week also, the Garmin Nuvi 500 recommended by Mordecai. I checked out the reviews on that product online and It rocks! Gonna get it cos I will be going for a round Malaysia Trip in March and also a Northern Thailand trip in April or May.
