Hey Thom@s.. Welcome to TDMers..

 

I understand Encik Pat is also looking to get a mainstand so maybe u guys can work something out.. =0)

 

I just met thomas about 2hrs ago...after i replied on his posting bout the mainstand and screen,he called me...he came down all the way from woodlands to have a chat and quiries on TDM stuffs while i take the chance to fix the wheel on my XRR...takehow dropby for awhile and left for kopi session at lavender.

 

Anyways Uncle Pat,you may have found yourself a partner...

Thomas just bought a brand new silver TDM just like hafiz,and he plans to ride to Hatyai in Dec5...i told him bout your planning on Penang via Gerik...so maybe you guys can hook up...

 

 

It's been an amazing month...so suddenly like so many new TDMers coming in within this month...all comes from different walks of life...

I hope we all could just get along and have a good time with what we like to do most...

How bout we dump the stands somewhere near and go in Malaysia to ride and makan. Ks aren't meeting so I can dedicate my whole night to my love affair. You guys. hurrrr. (GF can wait till Sat )

my free time is Sat 11pm to 5pm...same goes on Sun.

If you take AYE, turn left exit NUS there and go straight.

 

Both roads you go straight will lead you to this area alot of makan one.

I have been following this tread for long time and seldom exchange ideas on TDM. However, the last nightmare I had with this machine when I was on the recent 3NCR ride to Surat Thani, the bike broke down near Ipoh becoz the magnetic coil was burnt, no charging, engine juz died off. Brought it back to GP on a small lorry for Rm1200 during Deepavali then rode to Sin on a fully charged battery and replaced a new coil at Hong Leong. I intended to sell it after fixing and everytime, I rode it, I changed my mind. The engine was smooth. It's 6 year old now when I bought it two. I have not changed much except tensioner, rectifier & recently magnetic coil other than battery, hydraulic brake oil, coolant and service of rear shock and front forks. Now I have a probia of touring far north. I dont know what are going to fail me next. Can anyone who is familiar with TDM, let me what to expect for in the next service. It clocked 118k km now. For engine matters, I use to service at Hong Long and others, outside mechanic

I change my battery in Hatyai and rode to Samui where the battery died again. I decided to hack it and bought a jump start cable. I used it to jump start all the way back to s'pore. Once again thanks to Man, Hafiz, Damien to help jump start. I'm sure it will not happen again in the near future. I see that you have changed most of the things that need to be changed. So go for it man. Tour!

Thanks Boon for your encouragement, my bike is a 2002 model Tdm. I didnt know it can jump start on fuel injection otherwise, I'll do same like u. Excuse me for my ignorant. What do u mean by "hack it"

What he meant by "hack it" is that in hatyai, his bike already in bad shape but still continue the trip to koh samui and then back to Spore. Luckily the three jokers are with him at that time so managed to pull through the trip!!

 

Its an unforgettable experience and memorable one...

And how do you jump start and continue to ride the bike when the bike is not producing electricity to fire up the spark plug??

those who have just collected the SW-motech mainstand yesterday,i would like to tell you guys,you're in for a surprise...

 

I've installed the mainstand for PCR...its damn easy to lift the bike to mainstand and down too...effortless...mine is abit ol as i bought already comes with it...so today,i tried a new one,impressive...no need to buy 400 over dollars for a yamaha ones...
