Haha.. So Tdm better than fazer? Haha.. I also rode fazer before its really powerful.. Haha..

I still on stocks now.. I'm a poor man.. No money to change exhausts.. Hahah!

Bro , wat I meant when I said can't compare wif fazer . . . . It's a totally different bike ! Fazer is indeed more powerful compared to our Tdms . When u ride a fazer6 or fazer1 . . . U are always sitting on an "attack mode" !

Tdm is a sports tourer . . . Low to mid is excellent whereas top end tend to be lacking tremendously . . . But when u go touring . . . how often u go beyond 180 kmh ? Aftermarket pipes does makes alot of different though . Maybe when we go riding again . . . U can exchange bikes wif me(on Remus), Kmax(on scorpions) or Paikia(on Lv) ! E best is Angelos's on Yoshi - 1st to 3rd can pop n wheelie effortless ! than u can feel e extra "pick up" u looking for !

Happy riding n ride safe ! !

Fazer power lah...but the Fc also power. I went to Phuket with 2 fazer1...i pump once only for every 2 of their petrol. and yes...they are always in the front and can zoom pass me anytime.... but I feel good as TDM is easy on the petrol and comfort...hehe...only my 2cents thought...

I reckon for TDM or whatever bike for that matter, each has it's pros and it's cons.

For me although I had not actively rode & own any bikes for more than 10yrs b4 getting the TDM, I felt its more than adequate for comfort, fuel economy, power, styling, reliability and of course price.

Need speed? Get a genuine sportsbike.

Need speed and yet wana go tour? Get a Concourse GTR.

Need a decent all-rounder capable of doing almost anything other bikes can do and sometimes better? Get a TDM. :)

I'm on stock pipe for nearly a year before upgrading... You can feel the diff, it's much more willing to punch forward compare to stock, lighter n crispy throttle...

If you're into speed and touring, I've rode Black Bird, fast and stable. Good FC too but when reach the destination my back always nearly breaks... Maybe I'm too old for speed ?

The other recommended tourer that I've rode is old iron horse, ST11... Good FC, comfort, stable. The only thing that I sold it off due to its weight as it worsen my problematic knee...

Fully agreed... Its not really touring if hit more than 180km/h... That's speeding, TDM not built for that...

Fully agreed !!! TDM is so far one of the comfortable and easy on petrol big bike around...

A typical TDM gives around 20-22km per litre. But as to Glenn mentioned, it might go as low as 18km/L but this is still much better than VStrom1000 or the old Africa Twin. With its 19L tank, u can hit 400km+ with no problem.

And u might also be pleased to know that TDM has one of the best, if not THE BEST fuel economy among similar adventure dual sports tourers.

Talk to people who knows about adventure tourers and u'll be pleasantly surprised that TDM is actually very hardy and versatile. The only 'problem' (at least to me) is the stock bike looks too dull. That's why it never strike me to get a TDM when I decided to get a bike. Went down for a meet up back in March last year and I was amazed how the TDMs were transformed from a dull looking machine to sleek mean touring bikes with accessories and aftermarket parts. And after 8months plus of ownership, I am loving every moment and look forward every opportunity to ride my TDM.

Swing by come Friday 13th (if the meet up is firm) and chat with the guys at lavender food court. We usually park at the footpath along the main road opposite auntie shop.

Currently there's one for sale from Bro Ansmania. His advertisement is in one of the recent thread. Just browse through and u'll see his post. And his bike comes with a very nice number too! Not forgetting HuGE one of a kind pelican sidecases and Akra vroom vroom pipes.

Everything well said, except the fuel capacity... it's 20 litre (with 3 litres reserve) instead of 19 litres... LOL....

If you pump it slowly, you can squeeze in another 1.5 litres !!!

Look here for more fuel consumption detail...

There's actually 2 'models', 2002 model with silver frame and the later black frame model (I think '06?). The black frame model also comes with white dials & immobiliser. Both looks identical otherwise.

Well... U can't judge an used bike by its age or even mileage as it all depends on previous owners' level of care. Mine is 9yrs old with around 108K km on the odo but frankly it runs well without any fuss. And those who knows can attest that the twin parallel is very hardy and plenty of usable torque. But if u are after SPEED on msia road, the TDM might not be your cuppa tea as the comfort speed is around 150kph. Anything above 160kph on this (or any) tourer would be a handful. If u crave for constant speed of 180kph or above, a sports tourer like GTR, FJR or ST13 might be better.

Wait till u ride on one with aftermarket exhausts... U'll never look back thereafter. Just ask Kmax or Rahmat. They swapped back to stock & no good words came out from their mouth. Anyway... I'm on 'modded' LVs & mileage is at a very decent 21-23km/L.

Got $$$ go for the newer model, on budget go for the older one... Not much diff, except what Paikai has mention earlier and I think the FI mapping of the newer model also got diff (according to Angelo)

Mine is 9.5 years old, just reach 77,777km yesterday...

And according to Mac the silver frame purportedly has more power.. Hahaha!! Got to trust him on this since he owns both models. :)

Glenn... U ride too little. Hahaha!! My daily mileage is almost 60km to & fro work.
