where else but HL? the valve clearance is $220 and throttle service @ $180 (both labour only) and lots of small parts replacement that add up to the bill. and i also bought the oil change package @ $155. Had to wait for the tensioner assembly ($120) as there is no current stock. It's worth it as the whole ride is much better.

one thing to note...got to book in advance. i have to wait almost 2 weeks for an appt.

Im shopping for big bikes. Used to ride FJR1300 and enjoyed it a lot. Massive power and virtually maintenance free shaft. Lots of storage and wind protection. Highest speed gone on it is 220km/h. Never tried it since.

Not been riding for almost 2 years.

Im in dilemma whether to go for TDM or VFR800x. Since both has its own strength and weaknesses, i wonder if anyone has either rode both bikes before?

Your feedback is much appreaciated.

Thanks

go for VFR if u prefer going fast.

Not going for speed anymore but it helps once in awhile when traveling up NSH, Malaysia. TDM are so well established. Even when getting a second hand TDM, parts are easily available to overhaul engine and do miscellaneous repair. And tdm prices are affordable(eg. Can pay full amount on purchase) compared to a new vfr. Don't wanna go over the whole idea of installment plans for years...

well, both. it's beyond the recommended mileage already, but since it's a production bike, it is still doing good. It was better after the service.

better not wait till something breaks down due to wear and tear.

Okok. My mileage around 175000. Guess is due already.

Initially wanted to do the valve clearance and throttle sync service together during my one weekend oversea trip... But tensioner assembly is not available so in the end just do the throttle sync service first. After the service, even at low rpm (2500) not knocking anymore and throttle become more responsive and crispy...

My mileage is reaching 95k soon for a 10+yrs old lady...
