Hi guyz... Thkz a lot 4 sharing all e info... I juz got e bike 2day n still running in... 1 more Qs, can i go like 100-110 during running in... Thkz...

Bro, 90% of the bikes in the market do run in pegged to RPM and not speed. If i am not wrong, you cannot exceed rpm 4 or 5 till 1st oil change

U gotten one? Im gonna trade in my bbird for one after my songkran trip. Probably s10 ba.. The looks grow on me more n more already...

N the more research i do abt this bike, the more impressed I am w it.. But Im also considering the z1000sx n goldwing.

Leaning towards tenere more, cos can rekindle my mountain biking days.. :)

So, anyone try cruising at above 160kmh?

nope.. not yet.. saving up to get it hopefully end of the year.. and pray hard COE is at $1k region then..

Me still thinking. Choosing between super tenere & versys.. I know they r different category, but I'm considering abt concerns for local commute. Would S.tenere be too heavy/big/hot for commuting?

Posted

daily commuting why not?? it comes down to the rider..

for me, rainy day also ride bike..

for local commuting, maybe just put a top box, side panniers are for long distance, touring or transporting goods..

but cycling also a good way of commuting..

take a look at the H&B catalog, it had tons of accessories for S10..

Posted

Back from Loois.. The versys feels very basic compared to s.tenere. I feel like Im sitting "in" the s.tenere as compared to on "top" of the Versys..

Tenere feels ard 3" inches, which isnt much of a biggie for me. Wife says pillion seat for tenere feels mre comfortable n firm. Wind protection definitely seems better on tenere.

What convinced me is, despite the height n size of e tenere, i can easily touch e ground n push easily.

X factor definitely better for tenere. So, hands down... Nothing much to win for e versys, but then again, they were never in the same league.

Gonna join the s10 gang may-june. :)

Yes, H&B got lot of variety like the touratech, I just fix on the H & B Xplorer both 40 litres side painners. Still waiting for the xlporer top case 45 litres to arrive in mid april. And my personnel opinion they're looking awesome as the colour of the box matches with the bike color. M-tech has stock in.

The crash bar are in as well, just fix on the full set of top & bottom crash bars..

Abit off topic of this thread.. Haa.

Anyway, go togoparts.com

For me, if u got budget, can get Giant, Scott. Specialized n Trek got some low range too. Its more of the parts that make difference in the price.

Go to Hup Leong in Chinatown, behind OG. Look for Gilbert there. Plenty of options. Or, mid/high end, go Tiong Hin at Hougang. These r more reliable n trustworthy.

Personally, i wun trust GT for mtb though... :)

Anyway, Richard, for ur Hepco side rack, is it the "easy" removal type like the SW-motech?

Im considering Trax vs Hepco now... Original panniers seem to be flimsy..

I'm not sure the sound of leo vince, those on youtube the sound kinda weird(not accurate)

But after installed remus , prefer the sound as Loud and bassy.

Without DB killer awesome. i got it less than $850 at motoworld after negotiation.

The disadvantage is signal light melted if riding more than 2 hour without DB killer.

with silencer shouldn't be problem regardless of riding hours.

Happy Hunting.

Hi Ramen 71... Thkz 4 sharing e info bout e xos... Hv u installed e remuz... If yes can i come 2 hear e sound personally wif e silencer on... If u don mind then plz kol me at 90055937...

Yes, I opted for the original cases from yamaha earlier on, They do look flimsy & not practical to me when I really see it and use them(my personal opinion), So that's why I changed to H&B and upgraded the sizes as well as due to practical reasons (eg, helmet storage, Personal belonging, tools, First aid kit & rain coat.)

H&B latest design for the panniers rack are quick release type, which makes it easy for removal (anyway i wouldn't be looking at other panniers so did not pay little extra for SW-Motech type for all ranges of panniers)

But the cons side is that it makes it easy for a "quickie" if the pannier are not installed. People can just do a fast job by turning few screws and walk away like nobody business. I'm still trying to look for alternative to make sure it can't be be taken out easily.

Posted

The quick release r only for the sides right? U can still keep the top ba.

Like tat, everytime take out e panniers, take out e rack too? I suppose u wld only need e panniers on longer trips?

There's a lock that comes with it right??

Yes, The top case rack are screws (allen bolt) mounted. So chances are hard to take out. Other than that for now how I view the rack is that IF panniers out means rack out also. I'm looking into the accessories catalog from h&b when I free.

According to biting point quote, I'm still looking into the online catalog from H&B for any locking system, Thanks for the highlight.

Strange, your removeable rack should comes with 2 locking pins, one each side..

to remove rack, you needa take out 3pins each side.. so one of the pins is actually changed to lock so that it's not "steal-able"..

Sadly H&B dun really update their online catalog.. Try Biketech21 for the catalog..

It's my pleasure bro.. Don't hesitate further , u won't regret it . It's a whole new riding experience. Adventure bike can bring u to places that other bike can't.

Too bad the COE is extreme high , u might wanna wait till it drop back.
