Yes..but half the bottle only for a full tank. The other half can be half again or use all of the half.

Hey guys..especially those that have made appointment to see me to check their 'new' bike...just want you all to know that I'll be "Out of Action" until Tuesday. Been badly down with flu and relapsing fever. Don't want you guys to catch it. Thanks.

Hi s4 bros.! i think i and my s4 belongs here as it is not a vtec version and i yet to know whether it is vers s or what version.lol..cuz bought this bike from a shop, they take about 30units of s4 from a driving centre and sold off..i must say it is in very good cond but can only whack til 140 and tats it(was curious bout the top speed of s4) i tot can whack til 180..guess they power cut alot..salesman say it is a combination of ver S and v-tec 1. ? ??

 

my problem somthing like urs,top speed when reaching 140,rpm wil stop incresing(around 9k),speed wil maintain around they,i try using 5 gear,same thing,when reaching 140,rpm wil stop increasing(around 10k++)

something wrong,but i dont know were,just get my s4 last week only,today try e top speed,0-130kmh is v fast n smooth,problem is when reaching 140,like stuck there,any idea guy??anywhere,im riding PB1(i think is pb1)..tks in advance..

I c, firstly, where did u get ur bike from? same exact prob, last week i change new stock airfilter,wash carb and tune back, still the same can only reach 140,but it is quite slow to reach 140,its like not enough power. It cud be power cut maybe? Maybe u can try like what i did, change airfilter, wash carb n re-tune..im still experimenting though...do you experience slow and heavy pick up when u throttle at lower gears? n, im still not sure what model my s4 is, got no vtec, dunnoe pb1, ver S or what, btw, the oil stick is at the bottom part of the right hand side engine. btw, my bike is taken from driving centre and being sold off...

I had the same problem, wash airfilter, carb also no use. Bring to Ahpek to check, after checking he told me the prob and to bring to a mech.Mech he say S4 meters got circuit boards.

 

Mine the board at the rpm side was cracked. I believe if you or the prev owner changed to "chiong" meters these boards will not be original.

 

If I am not wrong the rpm side board actually controls the engine timing. So lets say at 140kph its supposed to go into a advanced engine firing mode or open the valves in certain order, it might not happen becase the circuit board is either damaged, not the correct ones or just "chiong" one.

 

This is just based on my own bike, I'm not saying this sure is your prob.

don't know if you guys experienced this problem before but recently my bike feels like it has a loss of power, especially during pick up and also my engine heats up real quick. For example, a simple ride from yishun to hougang at 3am in the morning, when i reach hougang, engine is hot and fan turns on. my engine will never be hot in such short rides especially at night in the past.

 

could it be because my air filter and carb needs to be washed and re-tuned? cause its been a while since i last did it, about 6000km ago? because air filter dirty, not enough air is present for combustion, thus leading engine to work even harder and thus the heating problem? i just changed all my coolant hoses and water pump about 6 months ago, coolant was also flushed around a month ago. so i doubt its leaking.

 

hope you bros can help me with this. dont want to bring to shop anyhow kena chop. oh ya im riding a ver s. thanks a lot! :)

I am not sure if it applies to all S4. The new vtecs seems to be different.

I am riding a Ver S bro.

But I heard someone say even vtec have this boards. Not sure whether its true.

Maybe airfilter dirty, or carb dirty. But I don't think need to tune carb. Could be your plugs, are all firing? Check your coolant reserver tank. I realise my Ver S uses the reserve tank quite alot. The coolant level drops after a few long and hot rides.

What I usually do is check it ever week and top up accordingly.

Unfortunately the pcb board does not come alone. It come together with the rpm meter. In my case I was lucky to find a second hand one, but it's very rare.

Damage for new rpm meter is abt 300 plus (Original Honda one)

 

But I advise you go to a good bike shop. Have it checked, let the mech find out what is really wrong before you decide on anything.

thks for the tips metal_heart...anyway, there is this one plug near the headlight area which seems to be unplugged, dunnoe where it suppose to be plugged at...

 

No prob bro. I have only dismantled the headlight a few times. I only remember the H4 connector for the headlight. Does your headlight work?

If it works then this might not be the connector which is unplugged.

Is it in the headlight or outside the headlight near the meter area?

thanks for your reply bro. i last changed my eo about 2 months+ ago. around 2600 km to be exact. if carb dirty, i thought need to wash and retune? my plugs were changed 6500km ago, about 6 months usage so far. carb was also washed and tuned together with plug change. im using the standard NGK ones. Running on knn filter though.

 

if all 4 headers feel hot to the touch, that means plugs are firing? and ya, my coolant level tends to drop too after long rides in the sun. i just topped up my coolant myself last week and i make it a point to flush my coolant every 2 months. this problem occurred after a very long and hot ride on a sunny afternoon. now my bike response feels very heavy and 'rough'. engine heats up very fast too.

 

is it time to change my plugs and wash carb at my current mileage? thanks for advice! :)

SparkEnzo>>i think i know where you might have gotten your bike..some time ago when i was shopping for mine i happened to see these "hybrid" S4's as well..i spent some time talking to the salesman and boss regarding these and another "true" Spec 1..they told me that these driving centre units were put together specially for the purpose of training usage and so Boon Siew combined parts from Version S and Spec 1 to meet their request and demand for high number of units..i noticed most of such units that i saw at the shop still had the crashbars and some even still had the big number stickers on them..

 

whether this is true or false, i wouldn't know..whether this is the reason your bike currently tops out at 140, i also wouldn't know..maybe you can ask around for someone else who has also gotten this exact driving centre type of S4 if his/her ride encounters the same thing..

 

but anyway, in my time of riding so far, i have only brought my S4 to that kind of speeds a humble one time..just to try..i guess if this issue of yours is a default characteristic due to the "hybrid" spec, and not caused by a mechanical problem, and if you don't tour/cruise at that speed range alot, then i don't think it'll be a prob..

 

as long as you are comfortable with what you got, then it's okay..i ended up getting a Version S at what i felt was not a cheap price, but i was comfortable with the condition as per the previous owner had handed over to the shop..and i just spent some time taking care of the necc and now my beloved bike treats me well..:thumb:..fuss free..

i think is a waste of money to wash and change plug again . may be other problem . my bike i never change plug and wash carb since the day i get it . i ride around 17k+ already .
