Quoted from the teachers of Ah Pek. Kindly squeeze your hose and see whether whether is there cracking sound, if there is most probably there's rust. You need cleaning agents to get rid of the rust. Consult our Super 4 Specialist @Ah Pek.

B]Help on mysterious missing coolant prob?[/b]

I've been noticing my Ver S is running real hot btw my legs ever since i got this bike. Did a check and the reservoir (right side of the bike) is empty. Did a refill with distilled water and within 7 days it dried up. This is my observation :

- No sign of coolant leaks from the hoses / Engine fins or stains(coolant) from the floor.

- Cap looks good (no crack and rubber not hard)

- Fan working as it should.

- Notice minute oil leak from the tightening screws of the engine head cover and gasket (tho i cannot be sure if it comes from a blown gasket of the engine or the exhaust heads.

- Suspected that my exhaust leaked as I noticed carbon residual near the head gaskets and body frame

From my thread search, a blown head gasket could be a culprit but can anyone confirm on this? not oil seal issue? And wat is the price range to repair?

Also, i noticed traces of oil on my body frame where the front sprockett is located. Anything of main concern that I should be aware of?

My bad for the multiple enquiries.

so many ver s newbie recently, COE for car keep going up, pushing drivers to convert to riders???

just 1 advise, better use coolant water n not distilled water to prevent rusting in the coolant. my bike also got similar problem but coolant water does not dry so fast, maybe 3 weeks then dry, i changed the radiator cap n now back to normal. the old cap looks ok to me but not sure y the new cap works

Heh Ghost...what is "coolant water"?...oso why cannot use "distilled water"...can rust and why can rust because of distilled water? Also, why does coolant water (if it exist) dry after about 3 weeks..not 4 or 5? Plse englighten me bekuz this is the first time I heard all these or provide the link where you read all these.

No, not mocking u and neither am I ur teacher..it's something u are confusing me and need clarification that's all. Don't be too sensitive..I dunno I ask that's how we learn and what u said may be misleading or something I missed. "mocking me n trying to be a english teacher now...ok? now u happy?"...these choice of words reflects on ur character..whatever u think I'm thinking..go figure.

"if there is something wrong with that, just say so"..I don't do that. Just so u understand, doing so would be rude in my practice..it's like cutting in and telling ppl what I think is right and u r worong over ur statement made..so to say, I have to ask first before I say so..right?

Yes, you are trying to help and share..that's great but not the way you sounded so "firmed" about it and are confusing and misleading me.

Now.."coolant water = coolant"..this is not the definition. There are concentrated and non concentrated form. Concentrated has to be mixed wif ionised, pure or distilled water otherwise it would never be able to transfer heat away from one part to another. Coolant itself is a fluid (gas or liquid) and basically ethylene glycol and has no "water" to it.

Again, you wrote..."I misread distilled water as tap"...do you want me to be your English teacher?

Anyway..like I said..ain't mocking you or being ur English teacher..just trying to keep things on advising here precise for the many ppl reading here. You are right..I say you are right, you are 'wrong' I've to correct you without being rude..git?

I m not sure what u r trying to prove here, I already made my point. I already admitted that I misread, it was a mistake n u have to further comment on that. Do I have to say that that tells what a character u r?

I m not here to seek an argument, I m here to learn n share but I just feel ur reply was being too mean.

N I already said, when I mean coolant water, I was referring to coolant in general n I did not mentioned it is a definition that u assumed I did. N do I need to say that tells what a character u have?

It is really nice of u to write the definition but like I said, that was not what I meant. U have not asked me what i meant by those words n went to say that "if that even exist". My english might not b good as u but like I said, I m not here to argue. I m merely unhappy abt the way u replied n retaliated. I know u r the expert here n many respect u but does not give u the rite to talk this way.

Well, what I've read so far is.

1)Tap water has impurities.

2) Tap water naturally comes to a boil faster than distilled water, not because the boiling point of the water is lower, but the volume of water against the impurities and contaminants of the water is far lower.

3) Tap water can have a range of pH which could cause corrosion to pumps and metals.

4) Tap water has more of a risk for carrying electrolytes picked up from plumbing sources

5) If I'm not wrong, somehow heat will make the minerals turn to rust after years.

I hope it helps :)

is there a need to do extra special servicing at 100 000km mark?

Hi guys is there any shop that i can go for reloan? most of the shop i see can only do reloan if the bike is less than 10 years old..im getting a S4 Ver S from my friend. Still finding a shop for reloan...

Posted
Does it mean the front fork is leaking if there is oil/looking wet along the front fork? What will happen if front fork leak?

You can do a fork servicing, 70 bucks? Where they will change the fork seal, add the fork oil, etc..

How much is the loan? If is very little, most probably shops dun want to take. Maybe because they earn very less interest.

Anyway, have you tried going down personally to ask?

hmmm, sorry for the newbie question though, but how does a healthy front fork look like? or does it means my fork is bad with the oil/looking wet symptom? and erm, what will happen if its leaking?

thanks in advance.
