Buy the GS.... If you can handle the stock bike!

 

If you cant handle the bike then probably, the Fazer is more suited to you.

 

Both bikes are great.... use to ride a Fazer and now riding a GSA. Your pillion will appreciate the GS better! I know you will too!

Agree wit u kinwei as GS like lifestyle as it can attract motorist n pedestrian on the road hahaha ..... it always my dream bike for me since i got my 2B licence long long long ago. Last year I was abt to go to Performance motor tat day to recce tis GS wen suddenly my younger bruder called me up for a mit up at Speedway Motor, he wan me b his gurantor, I nvr expect he bought a new brand bike Fazer 1000, darn him hahaha.....

 

The moment he on the ignition OMG, like a monster MAn!!! Hahaha......tat is where I in dilemma wic 2 buy I m stuck.....half-half hearted man....

 

Hope u guys noe how I feel..one is my dream SEXY bike n the other is sporty MONSTER bike.....hehehehe

If height and money are no issues, then go for the the R1200GS. You can test ride the new model or the smaller GS at PML first. Once you get a BMW, you will be hooked for years...

Go to PML and also realize that your bank account is not big enough. =0) But no doubt the GS is a fantastic bike. Worth every penny if you can afford it.

i got a 2007 fz1s now, i am also contemplating in betweensssss.****!

 

i clocked 5000km alredy during my 4months ownership, the only set back on the fz1s is the

1) fuel tank

2) ride posture

3) fazer dont like bumpy roads.

super tenere is not cheap, so in terms of better resale i go for GS

if must compare ..

FZ1 is like a refine Jap guy, smooth, efficient, modest and doesn't complain much, just work ... cost effective due to market share

GS is refine too, but got character (not like a mass market bike) due to the boxer engine .. then again relative more to maintain, as it likes TLC

both are very nimbler bikes around city road and fast on highway (FZ is faster if going on top speed and faster in acceleration .. not comparing to sport bike, but tourer)

 

presume you are a road runner since FZ is not a dual purpose bike?

if financing either is not an issue then are you a "poser" type biker .. ha

if you are true to yourself then you have an answer

One's a naked sport bike with an upright position... but still a sort of a sport bike nevertheless.

The other is an adventure tourer, and you might even do a little off-roading with it.

 

How to compare? Just go with the type of bike you like or wanna ride.

Buy a GS1200A and get him to add you as Sub-rider for the FZ1. Best of both worlds!
