Blading is on ice rite ?

Actually the actual word for blading is skating. Ppl say blading cause it came from the initial brand name "Roller Blade" and actual name for your skates(the shoe) is Inline Skate. For ice, it's also call skating, same action. Just to share from what I'd learned.

Biking.

oic .... in other words , can apply the term ' blading' or 'skating' whether u on ice or hard tarmac. Just the prefix 'inline' and 'ice' makes the difference in meaning.

Thanks .

1) Change to ABEC 5 bearings

2) Keep your body low to reduce air resistance. If you are more proficient, you can even try and tuck your arms behind your back, like the "senang-diri" position.

3) Don't rocker your wheels. Best is all 4 wheels touch the ground.

4) Not sure about this, but push off and glide a lot longer and quicker.

I wish to join you guys but I stay on the west side. Hope that works for you Cheeko.

Was there last Sunday Morning. Was practicing the 180 deg turn and stop.

Just couldn't get it rite. (Scissor leg , twist body , spread out right leg to balance and stop.)

Saw a big ang moh drop real hard back first onto the concrete pavement while trying to rtn skate with his daughter. Was down for quite a while and had to be

helped up and moved by 2 people who barely reached his chest height.

Time for me to get an helmet.

I find that the 180deg turn stop will only b effective if u r slow..... cant stop in that manner if speed is fast, will have to do the hockey brake. I hope some1 can teach me tat

Soft boot, lace with 1 buckle at the top. Smaller wheels for better stability. Make sure its the correct size (v impt). Check out gallant sports at parkway parade, huge variety.

Around $150 for a decent pair.

Hmm Hmm..

Then which brand or model good? So many different one in the market.. So blur. :giddy:

More established brands are k2, rollerblade and salomon but they're priced slightly higher. Less branded skates are generally ok and more value for money just that with less fancy design and 'technology'.

IMO, 'non-branded' skates ard $130-$200 should be fine, anything less, the skates will torture you, anything more, overkill for a beginner.

Yap. Instead of using blading, it's skating. Like ice skating or inline skating

In general, you'll need to balance well enough to skate fast. If you're able to balance well, you'll be able to strike your every skate hard enough to glide further. In another words, harder strike also means able to skate faster. Simple to say, technique is important.

Better grade bearings & bigger wheels also do help the smoothness of the velocity. Grading of Bearings doesnt determine the speed cause speed mainly generate by the skater. Grading of the bearings is the smoothness of the bearings
