my friend is thinking of buying a 2-3yr remaining COE TA200 phantom..

 

anyone knows how much $$$ will u get back when u scrap the bike?

 

and where/how do u do it?

 

sorry noob qn, but then, never dealt with end-life bikes before..

What is open market value mean on the OneMotoring website? Is it the scrap price?

no, only the coe can be use as a rebate if u purchase another bike if the coe haven't expired.

 

for motorbike no value need to pay for scrap that why try to sell parts from your bike before scrapping to get back some $$.

Can you give me an example of how this rebate can be used? Lets say i wanna buy a first hand super 4. How does the rebate come into the picture?

scrap only need 2 item of the bike

the chassis and engine cover.

lets say the bike you scrap ,coe 9yrs ago is 1000sgd,you scrap @ the 9th year,balance 1 yr.you will get a paper value of 100sgd to offset the new coe(take note.minus this minus that less than 100sgd)

 

so when you buy a new S4,just give the bike shop to summit the document to claim back the coe rebate of what you have left(the old bike you scrap)

anyways for phantom i dun think bikeshop/scrap operator want to pay u $$ when u scrap..

maybe try ask karang guni guy..
