but the hdb is like already saturated but as the yrs part every hdb will get older, by the time how do they intend to replenish it? or renew the lease except tearing it n rebuilding, i think this a big issue maybe 30yrs down the road?

 

nxt time i think all must be high rise flats. if not where got enough land? or everywhere is basically hdb n still hdb haha.

 

and also even hdb flat seems like a asset hard to be owned due to the price.

I think the lifespan of HDB flats is at most 50 years, well before that they will be tore down and new ones will be built in their place. The owners of the old flats will be "given the option" to purchase the new flats at "discounted" rates. For those who do not have enough money, u will be relocated to other places.

either way is it worth it or not is another issue i think. if price is already jack up, discount small. it will be like u go out shopping, price mark high then use discount to attract.

I have weigh the outcomes and its on the opposition side, I was born here and stayed here for 27yrs, so were my parents and so were my grandmothers, Noting of today has a single benefit to me, i cant buy a house, i have a degree from aus and i dont have a job even after working as a manager in australia for 6months not even a entry paying job that pays $1.8k.

Ever since i turned 21 (4 years ago) my dad has been applying for citizenship but to no avail.. but the thing is.. every now and then, the newspaper will have article on "XXX becoming a citizen of Singapore.. YYY becoming a citizen of singapore"

I was exasperated.. these people haven't even make a single contribution and the government is offering them citizenship just like that while my dad has to slog every day of his life and still he's holding on to a BLUE IC!

Just look at the singapore sporting industry.. the whole of Singapore soccer team are SINGAPORE "CITIZENS" ...

 

Every parliament session, the PM will speak of protecting the interest of singaporean.. have they?

slevin, you're absolutely right in the sense that many things that Singaporeans owned doesn't really belongs to them..

 

The car is indeed owned by the owner.. but without the CERTIFICATE OF ENTITLEMENT you cannot drive and without paying for the roads in which your car/bike is gonna lay it's tyres on.. so technically speaking, though the car/bike belongs to you.. the land and the permission to drive that vehicle goes to you know who...

 

HDB has never been owned by any singaporean.. it's a LONG-TERM LEASE of 99 years.. HDB was built in the early 60s-70s to ease the over-populated shop houses that once housed over hundreds of coolies.. their mission was to "TO BUILD A ROOF OVER HEAD AT AN AFFORDABLE RATES FOR THE PEOPLE"

 

Sad to say.. with the current inflation rates and strong Singapore dollar.. we've to admit that in order to survive.. we need to slog.. and yes beyond our retirement age ...

Easier said than done, Sg is a majority Chinese population, and throughout history, Chinaman is genetically engineered to believe that there is only one ruler, the sun emporer, what he wants he gets, he is next to God in status. Keen to participate in the Singapore General Elections 2011?

I am recruiting volunteers to support the National Solidarity Party's campaign. All helpers must be Singapore citizens.

 

There are a number of ways you can help, and each at a different level of involvement. You can get involved as little or as much as you are comfortable with. We at NSP appreciate all the help that we can get. You don't need to become party members.

 

The kinds of help we need are:

 

1. As Proposer, Seconder or Assentor

- The role of these are to agree that the candidate will run for elections in that constituency.

- The volunteer must be named on the electoral register of that constituency i.e. they will nominate candidates for elections in their home constituency.

- A team of candidates needs 1 Proposer, 1 Seconder and 8 Assentors.

- Must be Singapore Citizen above 21 yrs old. Can be from the same family.

- Must be physically at the Nomination Centre for that constituency on nomination day from 1100 to 1230 to fill in the forms. Must meet in the morning of nomination day before heading there as a team.

 

2. As Polling Agent

- To be seated at Polling Centres on the actual day to ensure that rules are followed properly during voting. You will be the rare ones allowed inside a polling station!

 

3. As Counting Agent

- To be present at counting centre. Witness physical counting of the votes!

 

4. Helpers

- There will be many roles. Some at the front dealing with the public, others at the back room dealing with organisation and logistics.

 

If you wish to help in places such as Tampines GRC, Jurong GRC, Chua Chu Kang GRC, Mountbatten and others, I would also be happy to help arrange for that.
