i was inspired by the Asphaltfighter Stormbringer motorcycle.

check out the painted grooves on the motorbike.

so i was wondering if we can paint our tire grooves as well.

first thing is where to get the markers, cause permanent markers doubt will have its colour last.

2nd is safety, as we know the grooves are for channeling water away, painting them might reduce their water channeling ability.

pretty sure no one tried this in sg yet.

February 2011 - March 2012 = Phantom TA 200

March 2012 - August 2013 = Suzuki Impulse 400

Present = BMW (Bus, MRT, Walk)

where to get tire markers?

think have to use smaller nib to ensure the colour is clean.

but i agree is nice looking. imagine if its reflective. at night = higher visibility.

i used to do it for my r1 and bb use paint marker can already but due to expansion on the tire due to the heat the paint will crack after a while of riding from far look still ok but near all crack one. its nt reall very safe also when rainin and tire going botak will slip.

I know the fastest way to do this.

Bring the bike to the track, use spray paint and spray the whole tyre tread portion.

Bring the bike out onto the track and scuff up the tyres through the corners... paint is gone except for the grooves.!! :thumb:

woah.. like this also can.. cant believe you can think of it..

you can try to use sliver markers to be base before painting colours like red, orange or yellow.. dun use white as base as white paint is thicker and harder to work with.. sliver is easier..
