250, single silinder.

yes it should be lighter. but 2b riders will not feel the 2A weight and throttle control.

Since cdc uses a lighter 2a bike, will it be easier to handle as compared to heavier bike used by other driving centers?

Always be Alert & stay Focused when riding. :)

CDC uses ybr250 as 2A learners bike? Then definitely easier to learn. Take a look at some pics on the web, looks and weigh roughly like a 2b bike. Way lighter and smaller then super 4...

Anyway, what class2 bike is SSDC using now?

Hi,

For those of you who can remember their 2A practice, compared to a 2b bike, what were the things you had the more difficulty with ? Was it the weight of the bike, the power, the fine control ? Any advices for a 2B rider going to start practice in August ?

I can't believe CDC is using a 250cc bike for 2A practice.. What good does that do to us riders? It sounds like they want to have a higher passing rate, but what's the point of learning on a 250cc when obviously people take the 2A to get a 400 cc bike ? I'm riding a heavy 2B bike, and CDC is the nearest school to my place. But I can't learn on a 250cc..I'd rather go all the way up to woodlands at SSDC, my previous school, and learn on a real 2A bike, so that at least I won't be scared the first time I get a 400cc !

Not that obvious. Some take and wait to get their class 2, some get a 250cc bike etc. Besides, now Yamaha where got produce 400cc bike?

Count your lucky stars your got the 250cc. I suppose that the 250 will feel like a bigger 2b bike, hence easier to pass. After all, you dont learn anything in school. You learn what you need on the road.

Back when i was taking my 2a on the xjr400, the bike was heavy as hell, too much power and need to wrestle with the bike. I dunno about you guys but i am quite big sized yet i find it heavy and bulky. I find that 400cc on Singapore roads is way too much. Do you really need THAT much power?

Yeah, I see your point.. I am definitely not looking for power, I ride a big 2B bike and I actually feel very comfortable with heavy bikes. I'm not interested in the bike's power but I suppose my concern is that I might not be challenged at all by a 250cc and hence if someday I wish to ride a 400cc, I will be worried, anxious and not as comfortable as if at least I've had some sort of experience maneuvering it. I'm one of those who also think SG road do not really call or justify for 400cc, but you never know, I might get the touring bug in the future ! Hope this makes sense..:cheeky:
